so i had someone bring me a car to because it was misfiring and someone had suggested that he do fuel rails. in the process i noticed tons of oil around his turbo area asked the guy and he said it was a previous oil leak i told him it looked fresh but he said its been fixed. so i did his rails and went out for a tune . after a few pulls i noticed more oil burning so i came back and asked him to get the oil issue fixed and come back. well the car kept missing and running rough he brought it back and i did a compression test cylinder 4 is at 25. just like i expected his external oil leak was due to the previous shop who installed the turbo not connecting his drain tube all the way and the tube was kinked. turbo also has blown seals and was blowing about 1 quart of oil every 10 mins through the intake system . this is so sad for something this new.

Yes it is, hacks shouldnt work on cars. How do you screw up a turbo install? It goes in the same way it came out.

car was tuned on utec by another shop not know who it was.
mods were vf39 installed incorrectly by another shop different from the one that tuned it
car had broken evap purged solenoid broken by the shop totally different than the ones who did the work above

car was brought back 2x to the shop that did the turbo because of oil drain leaks causing the engine to run totally dry
car was also brought to the same shop on 1 occasion for oil leaking out of the oil cooler housing after it was swapped for an sti one during header install.

bottom line find one reputable shop and stick to it, do not bounce from place to place

btw neither of the shops are vendors on our forum

If I can trust this guy to eat a burning potato chip, I can trust him with my car.

Keith, you know as well as I do that it was not a burning chip, but rather a Bar-b-q chip!

holy crap. can this guy get any compensation from the shop (s) that screwed his car up? Lawsuits suck in general but I think one might be warranted in this case.
