I am bored and its almost 3AM and I have some system maintenance to do remotely tomorrow morning and I am dreading it so I would rather look at projects/parts you guys have. I can't help but look to my left and see my shelf full of crap for my build. The other bajillion dollars worth of stuffs are at the garage, which is nice because it doesn't make me feel like I spent as much as I did.

So post pics of random go fast parts that are YOURS pending installation or what not.

I'll go first:

http://blowneuroz.com/525/Parts/partsshelf1.jpg

all for my BMW 525

Ok your turn!

I just bought this last night. It's a bit dirty, but once I get the turbo and j-pipe to go with it everything will probably get some sort of functional coating (possibly Swain).

I just bought this (with some extras) yesterday.

So I can get go fast parts instead of an education, duhhhh

TROLL

97TurboDSM
01-05-2008, 01:47 PM
i think he just meant that had he been working all this time he'd have money for parts, but instead hes in school. i dont think he meant anything against wal-mart employees.

Snowboy459
01-05-2008, 02:02 PM
I think what he is really trying to say is that you guys are wasting a lot of money on car mods when you should either be saving it for your future or investing it in an education.

And now that I sold my WRX and am out of the racing scene, I can say that I agree with him.

97TurboDSM
01-05-2008, 02:31 PM
what about any other hobby that includes spending money. are they a waste of time too? its a hobby for most people and if you can maintain a living while buying parts or buy parts while still in school then why not? i think saying people are "wasting" money on a hobby is incredibly ignorant.

BlackZ05
01-05-2008, 02:36 PM
Yeah for real, my hobbies been stretched out over the last 5+ years so its not like i'm dropping big money all the time. An little things arent really that expensive anyway, aka exhaust an intake stuff an some times parts to the motor or interior.

Snowboy459
01-05-2008, 02:37 PM
Well whatever. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

But when I think back on how much money I blew on my WRX, I regret it. I would be much happier having that money collecting interest in my bank account right now.

cburwell
01-05-2008, 02:41 PM
Most people on here have expensive hobbies any way (Cars, Computers, Photography, drinking, etc). It's possible to got to school, work, invest in your future, and modify your car. To say that some people are choosing a nice car over an education is probably not accurate in most cases.

I <3 this place.

If I wasn't sinking all of my $$ into my education, I'd have a turbocharged GTO. But I'm not, so all I can do is dream. however, I may take a year off, and then the going get's interesting. I meant no judgment, it was merely sarcasm and all that.

Its a little different when it involved changing the geometry of your entire front end of your BMW.

Christ....there has to be atleast 1 in every freakin thread. we're just postin some pics of some parts we have laying around to get installed and someone thats Butt hurt cause they dont have a car worthy of Fast parts and have to come in and post a stupid comment about wasting money.
than another about regreting spending it. listen, if you regret spending money on your car than 1 of 2 things happened....1)you spent the money on the wrong freakin car...or 2)your not a true enthusiast. ive spent about $45k since i was 16 on about 4 differant cars and dont regret spending one cent. guess what...i still have money. who cares anyway....you cant take the **** with you!! not bashing you for having your own opinion...i just get tired of reading threads where they are completely harmless and someone has to come in and say something stupid and turn it into something else.

I just need the ECU connector from this, but I'm still sorting through it since I had to cut many of the leads short since the harness was so hacked up.

Not pictured: JWT ECU programmed for: MSD 50# injectors, 3 bar fuel pressure, 9.5:1 compression, cobra MAF, and probably other stuff. It's not too interesting, just and ECU with a JWT sticker on it.
