Picked up a new DD

I picked this gem up off ebay on Friday night after I drove 2 hours one way to test drive it.:)

1998 Z28 Camaro. LS1, 6speed, every possible factory option except for T-tops, one owner car with 122K on the clock. I picked it up for 5600.:thumbup: I couldn't pass up the price even though it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but tonight I finally was able to go pick her up and drive her home. Aside from a few small mods she'll probably stay pretty much stock until I get tired of the Civic.

God damn, torque is a wonderful thing!:-p

Needs some small stupid things that I can do for free/couple bucks. Otherwise the thing runs great and aside from some scratches is in great condition.:)

I could have had a 02 SS i think it was Silver with T-Tops alittle over 10k on it for 10g's best deal i've ever heard from one of sleds friends an then i got the real deal from the Rents. Which was pick a camaro cant have 2. *sighs* O wells Freakin Pimp though i love 4th Gens, congrats!! Enjoy.

I'm pretty sure I get better mpg than your Subie dude, lol. ~21mpg city ~26mpg highway.

I kind of agree...I saw that the thread stated that this was your dd...and the 4cyl honda was your weekend driver...I was confused cause of the crazy potential of these cars and the great mpgs of hondas

ps- I am not bashing hondas in any way...just thought it looked wierd...congrats on the pickup though

Either way, I can't put a price on just how well this thing accelerates in and out of traffic and how super comfortable it is compared to my rattle trap of a Honda.:lol:

And don't forget that the Honda really isn't a Honda anymore. I've built and changed every aspect of the car, it doens't get great gas mileage anymore, it's loud and obnoxious, and I've put so much work into it that I really don't want to mess it up driving daily. The reason the Camaro is my DD is because it will go 12s stock without being obnoxious and harsh. The Civic is fun on an open road, but hell in traffic. The Camaro is fun on an open road and comfortable in traffic, IE, a great street car.

Well, that is, until the mod bug bites my ass.:rofl:

lol well that's a good enough reason for me :) I got 300 miles to the tank today, so I'm gonna say like 20-25 mpgs

Yeah, that's roughly what the Camaro gets, and I'm used to paying premium prices every day so the couple extra bucks there doesn't bother me.

Nice pickup, always liked the f-bodies cause they have so much potential. Oh and I also drive a 1996 Grand Cherokee 4.0 and I average 15mpg mixed driving. There is no way you are getting over 20 mpgs in it..

In the Camaro? Definitely is. I know plenty of f-bodies that get over 20mpg combined driving and some have seen 30+ on the highway. Hell, my GTO used to average 21 in combined and I've seen 29 crusing on the highway. It's all about the gearing.
