This thread is dedicated to posting fixes for common bugs and stuff. If you have found a fix to a bug in the "bugs" thread. Compose it in an easily read format and post it here. DO NOT POST COMMENTS ABOUT THE FIXES HERE. That will only make it harder to find them.

I'm assuming a lot of you, like myself, are wondering why they arent receiving any emails telling you that a topic you posted on has been replied to or that you have received a private message. That option is turned off as a default by the forum and each of you need to turn it on in your user Control Panel. "User CP"
Step 1. Click on your user CP.

2. On the left there is a column of "edit" links. Click "edit options"
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/96imprez/email2.jpg
3. There you will find all of the email notifcation options and private message options. Turn all of those on if you want to recieve emails.

Ash there isnt a way to close a poll without closing the thread.
BUT you can set an expiration date on polls. When you create one it will ask you how many days after todays date would you like it to remain open.

Ur pic is way to small for me to look at. It could be a cookie issue on your end which is most likely the case. Hey it happens. I'm not having an issue and it doesn't seem like anyone else is.

Uggg wait whats going on. If your comparing it to email you will not always receive an email everytime there is a reply. If this what your talking about its not a glitch its how the site is designed. Its designed that way due to the fact say 100 people post at one time and keep replying to say one thread or multiple threads for that matter the email queue is going to grow substantially. This is basically just to keep the server load down and things running smoothly. If you actually read the full email you get it does say there may be other replys go to the thread and find out. If any of this is unclear feel free to message me and I'll clear it up.

no dex... it didn't have to do with email.
say you click on 'new posts'... on the right, it tallies the number of views, and replies.
it kept saying there were only 2 replies, yet there were like 5 or 6.
this really has no bearing on my life, i was just saying i saw what justin was talking about...

Alright, for some reason, when I post pictures, the same as I would on ANY other forum, using the correct code, it creates an HTML link instead of inserting the picture into the thread. I have uploaded them all to a photohost site, but it still shows like this:
http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/image.php?u=659&dateline=1127994085
The code I put is this:
http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/image.php?u=659&dateline=1127994085 (Without the spaces..)

well image files supported here are .jpg, .gif, and i'm not sure what else. if you use IMG tags the file has to end in one of those extensions in order to display. if its hosted somewhere where the link ends in 093409309309HOILUJLKJKL then it wont display as an image. however right click on the photo you are tryign to link to and it might have a .jpg extension within it and you can link to that instead of the page its being displayed on.

I posted this in the other thread, but look at "My Ride" under the two posts, it's different (old/new) for each. It looks like you updated info in your profile, and it put a double entry into that database. So now when you post, it's pulling you out twice.

Hey all just to clarify were getting ready to upgrade the system tonight. You should see the announcement. Unfortunately the garage might be inaccessible until monday or tuesday. I paid for a new garage program and the check has not cleared......errrr damn it. Anyway the store and forum will still operate perfectly normal as well as the timeslip DB. Theres a lot of big things coming up that I am currently working on and they are taking time so that we make sure they work correctly. Sorry for any inconvience guys!

hey guys,
before worrying about any of the major components that are not right, give it 24 hours or so. we just changed over to the upgraded version of the forum and Dex is working on rebuilding all of the features we previously had, and he's adding some new ones as well. give it a day or two and things should be right back up to speed.
thanks,
bryan

TST Garage
I tried uploading new pictures in my garage and every single time I try it gives me an error that the file size is TOO big. My images are less then 70KB in size which is way under the maximum file size standard. Can someone please check into this, thanks.

easy way, kinda ghetto but it works. open the file in microsoft paint. the click "Image" "attirbutes" if it shews the file to be to big. click "image" stretch/skew" then lower the %.
its alot easier than that discription makes it sound. but have fun
