Yeah I know, I just figured the 1jz one would have lower miles on it.

Oh **** good thinking. I didn't even realize that. I guess you're going through with a 1JZ swap?
Try sending a PM to empera on supramania, I know he has tons of parts sitting in his garage and you may get lucky. I'm about to get an R154 driveshaft from his "garage-mate" Ryan.

Thanks, I already have the car its runs great, except for the fact that a certain shop was supposed to go over the whole car and check everything, which they said they did, but somehow missed a bolt hanging out on the transmission, somehow in the process they forgot to check the transmission fluid, though they were supposed to check everything, and to make a dumb story short; they dyno'd the car with no transmission fluid, and it was driven home that way. Third gear and fourth are pretty messed up because of it.
I won't mention the shop name but its a vendor here; it did however put down about 300/300 on the dyno at relatively stock boost; and a very crappy tune . Now I just need a R154, and a exhaust manifold so I can upgrade the factory twins.

I got my greddy exhaust manifold yesterday... its awesome :). I was skurred cause it was real cheap, thought something might be wrong with it but its sexay. Going to drop it off tomorrow for ceramic coating hopefully along with my turbine housing. One concern is the clearance between compressor housing and manifold is very close and doesn't allow me to clock the compressor outlet as far down as I'd like, might lead to a clearance issue with the frame rail but I'm not sure. Pics coming...

its kind of weird it sort of sounds like it flutters when i have the windows up but if they are down it sounds normal like psshhhh so im like wtf is going on? is it just because i hear it going back into the system or what but maybe i'll pick up a little bosch one for like $30 bucks or someting
or grab a hks ssqv bov and recirculate it and that way i'll have my better bov when i have the hardpiping done too
InvisibleMonkey
10-18-2008, 02:35 AM
mine is the opposite, you don't really hear it when the windows are up but when they're down you hear it
why recirculate an SSQV?

It really isn't. A lot of people have done it. You just need to make sure that fuel isn't running out. You would most likely be running rich, but slightly rich is better than lean. I have an A/F gauge for that. Stock TT fuel system can support 500 rwhp. Stock ECU is phenomenal. I think I am just going to run wastegate (1 bar). I have heard as high as 17 psi, but I was just wondering if someone is running that set up. this is temporary until i figure out what I want to do (and more money of course)

mike at SSperformance did mine. he is a good guy. works for really cheap and is anal about getting stuff right (he builds 1000+whp motors on a regular basis). he does mostly mk4's but knows his stuff about the mk3

I give another vote for SSp mike.
As far as SM, I am one of the worst offenders of posting off topic in somebody else's thread. I think it adds interest and variety and adds a conversational element like talking in "real life" but those who are anal about compartmentalizing subject matter don't like it. IMO those folks are prime candidates to be librarians or proctologists.

haha yeah. i have an mkiv
and the idea would be to pretty much mod the headlights to fit an 05' era 5 series full headlights with halos into it, being to the simple fact of visibility, it would look great yes, however it would be more than just a "looks" mod, it would be bmw headlights IN a supra haha...
howver i could definitely imagine flip up halos that would look pretty awesome. flip up your lights and there's just an evil circle there

Elusion
01-01-2009, 11:48 PM
lol a ricer that owned a 79 camaro and an 84 firebird and who owned a bmw and sees the difference in peripheral vision between bmw 5 series hid's? and the supras halogens?
yup im some ricer trying not to hit people walking on the road in the dark like i almost did a few nights ago because i didnt have the light in the field of vision my bmw did.
im not talking about stupid underglow or purple blue headlights that look like something barney the dinosaur **** out lol

there are HID kits that work if installed properly
BMW headlights on a supra = rice...it doesn't matter what other cars you own

dont look horribly ricey to me, and those are a kit the thing is i HAVE a set of bmw headlights the FULL things...these are a 300$ kit and dont even give you hid's just a stupid cathode ray tube.
THIS however is rice.

not rice.

lol...i dont mean id be transferring over the whole thing it'd look JUST like the top pic except it would be the bmw hid's(for better viewing at night) and halo set(which agreed is dead sexy) not the cathode ray rig
