Not going to pull a topic off-topic.

i just think sometimes you argue a bit much scapegoat. Just like in the innocent supra driver thread, but that is another story...

People don't agree with my opinions so why not start calling names and arguing with me that my opinion is incorrect or the feelings I have about a topic are incorrect.

People don't agree with me, or don't know of where I'm coming from that sway my opinion on some matters. So one person ends up jumping on me for my opinion or takes what I said personally and they start something that others jump in on.

So now whenever I voice my opinion that doesn't match the popular vote I get **** for it AND I get bitched at for arguing when I started nothing.

Its like the whole cleanneon thing, the popular kids pick on him so it must be the cool thing to do. childish...

If you all want to keep arguing over me voicing my opinion you guys can go ahead right here.

Troll, you may want to sticky this so the next time I voice my opinion so all the kiddies know where to go to bitch about it

I expected this type of typical response as well

I'm honestly just tired of topics getting dragged off-topic because people, for some reason, can't stand when I voice my opinion about the topic itself. And its usually a waste of everyones time because Troll deletes the pots

At least one person had the decency to threaten me via PM instead of in the topic

Threats over the internet! Two thumbs up!

I honestly thinks some people don't have the mental capacity to see the other side of things. That or they don't want to take the time to read a post a few more times and maybe try to see where the other person is coming from. It's ok to disagree with someone without becoming angry, that's called a discussion.

I'm probably just as bad as Scapegoat though, since I seem to agree with the majority of the stuff you post here.

You're online, period. Actually, that's life. One person says something that everyone may not agree with and as soon as someone comments about it, everyone comes out of the woodwork and gang up. Didn't read the Vick post so I'm commenting in general. Someone says something and here come the followers. Say your part and if no one agrees, 'f' them and don't even worry about it any more. They'll look like fools if they keep rehashing old stuff.

There are plenty of ways to intelligently debate opinions. Those ways don't normally reach the "submit reply" button... I get the "you're a douchebag" and "you're opinion doesn't matter cause it differs than everyone elses" etc.

I'm just tired of the immature debates over my opinions. No one backs up their opinion of my opinion with a intelligently created and well thought out statement. And everyone jumps on the "you suck ibtl hahaha" band wagon.

I love a good mature debate, and I've had a few on here. But like I said, most of the time... not so much...

I do appreciate the mature replies to this thread  it honestly isn't entirely expected

I agree with you completely dude..

I have a few perturbations myself:

1. Political correctness. If you like it, you're a ****sexual (take that, PC police). Bottom-line. Political correctness is for those too sheltered from the reality of life to actual understand what in the hell is going on.
2. The truth hurts. If you buy a silly car and have silly ideas for it, you'll get called on it. Sure, what you do with your money is, in the end, your own business. But let's get real here...not all monetary decisions are in the best interests, are they?
3. The fact that everyone loves getting on CleanNeon's **** then cry when something is hurled towards them is utterly laughable, and indicative of a 4th grade intellect (which is not very surprising).
4. Sometimes people hate perspectives other then their own. By sometimes, I mean 99% of the time. People get so "butt-hurt" over various conflicting points that they take it personally and then start getting personal in their own right, and then you'll see all hell break loose.
5. Swear filters for the mother****ing LOSS.

as I said, my opinion usually isn't the same as the masses. Or at least I'm more willing to voice my opinion if it is different.

Of which I'm usually "attacked" for it. So yeah, I'm going to argue my point. But in general I try to form a complete and intelligent thought before hitting submit in hopes that most people would get the hint that this is a discussion board. Instead I usually get more grief. I'm usually told to keep my opinion to myself, or my opinion doesn't matter, etc.

I realize what an opinion is... some people don't. I think I do a pretty good job of seeing other's opinions... I don't think I've ever blatantly come out said "I'm right and you're wrong". Usually, if someone is being civil, I'll agree with certain points of theres.

For the record I enjoyed the religious discussion we had in the "tst whatever" thread that didn't degrade. :)

as I said, my opinion usually isn't the same as the masses. Or at least I'm more willing to voice my opinion if it is different.

You tend to be the "blame the victim" type of person. If something ****ty happens to someone, you're generally the first person to come in and say something along the lines of "well they shouldn't have been there" or "they shouldn't have been doing that." This annoys the **** out of me.

Also, there are times when you should share your opinion and other times when you should keep your opinion to yourself. Like the RIP Blair thread (Boy who died driving his Cobra). Really, no one cares about your opinion in a situation like that, all you did was upset people.

I can respect an opinion, but are you really so off base with reality that everything you say and believe comes out of left field? You fight tooth and nail for your side of the arguement and often leave me wondering where you come up with this ****.

On that note, I do agree with you from time to time. You seem to have a solid head on your shoulders, but man sometimes the things you say drive me up a wall. I don't know, it may just be the internet, but you tend to come off as a bickering pregnant house-wife or something.

i could care less about arguing... my big thing is respect. if you can form a decent argument and do it without personally attacking anyone, then i encourage it... unfortunately thats not always how it goes down. i've got nothing against the 'debaters' and the 'opinionated' people on the forum... it keeps things interesting, as long as those discussions can carry on respectfully (like this one so far).

Are you being serious?

- Following quotes taken from the thread: Top 100 Cars by Top Gear -

Exactly. I like Top Gear but you can’t take this list seriously at all. No other automobile journal/magazine/show would put the Jag at the top of a list spanning 100 cars and ahead of the Ferrari F40.

Here’s something a little better: EVO Magazine’s 100 issue featuring 10 greatest driver‘s cars (via on line poll.)

In no particular order:

Bugatti Veyron
Pagani Zonda C12S
Porsche 997 GT3
Lancia Integrale
McLaren F1
Skyline R34 GT-R
Integra Type-R
Honda NSX-R
Ferrari F40
Porsche 911 2.7 RS

and since opinions are a lot like assholes...

this list is obviously baised due to it being an EVO magazine, so it is biased towards the import crowd. You do the same poll in Mustang magazine you're gonna be getting Shelby's, Roush's, vettes, cameros, gto's, etc.

Arguing over these lists is as pointless as it gets. Opinions are opinions. And not fact based like "fastest car" "lowest ride height"

I’m not sure how to take you initial comment so I’ll leave it at that.

This is not “an EVO” magazine as in Mitsubishi Evo, rather EVO as in Evolved (which features cars from the U.S., Europe, and Japan.) So it’s biased to anyone who enjoys all cars from all three continents. Point I was making is this list was a little more "focused" rather than simply stating “100 best cars by Top Gear” and using Clarkson as our guide. And since this is pure entertainment, why would anyone be arguing over this?

Had you left out the first eight words in your reply, you actually may have come off as being mature. But more often than not, this is typically the type of comment I (and most people that have been on here for some time) have come to expect from you. That, what you see there was the “nicest” reply I could think of at the time. Had you said something silly like that to me, face to face, eye to eye, (which I highly doubt) my response would have been a little different. If you’re going to make a comment to which you know you’d never say to someone face to face, it’s probably not a good idea to post it up on-line either.

No one is perfect (Lord knows I’m not and have been incorrect on certain issues), however, comments like that are simply unnecessary. For future reference, clean it up.

Damn, I go and get sick, and miss a 1/2 day worth of fun posting lol.

Seriously, Scape, more often times then not, I agree with you on many many things.

I'm sorry but this site if full of young, (not saying I'm old) immature people who cannot handle a different perspective to an arguement. I know I have my share of stupid comments, but when you get down to it, I've had plenty of mature, intelligent discussions, and then inevitably someone comes in, can't grasp the topic on hand, so resorts to name calling and whatnot.

I don't know how many times since I've been a memeber, have people gotten on my case because I'll state something that is opposite to "majority". But I keep on doing it because that's me, and I'm not going to conform just because 80% of the people on this site can't handle a harsher, more blunt view to the topics on hand.

It's like the transexual thread that went down a few months ago. I made one, perhaps stupid post, where I was just trying to get arise out of someone, but then the thread continued for I dunno 10 pages of intelligent discussions where I explained my beliefs, and so did others, including Cleanneon. Then as I stated above, a certain memeber here comes in, picks out my very 1st comment some 10 pages prior, and starts a bash war.

That's the typical high school girl mentality on this forum.

I've learned to deal with it...which is also why you don't see me posting as much anymore.

Once again another kiddy taking things personally...

I'm not sure if it was obvious from my post in that thread (the one you copied) but not once did I say anything to or about you or your opinion. I referenced the magazine for one, and for two I referenced incorrectly because I didn't know that the EVO magazine wasn't devoted to the Mitsu Evo.

And you're calling my post immature? I'm not quite sure what you would have done in person if I said "Since the EVO magazine is biased towards evo's, yeah you're gonna get a list like that..." would you have kicked my ass big boy?

And I must apologize for using a common phrase thrown around here... I'll be sure never to use it again.

It’s an example of multiple times where you are either insulting or short with people online. That’s not something we need on this site. It wouldn’t take much to flip through your replies to fine more. And look at your response, the first thing you debate is the EVO magazine part which isn’t the point… it’s the first eight letters. And then one sentence about the actual comment I’m referring too. You want to debate car stuff that’s fine, leave the silly remarks for another forum. It’s no skin off my back because quite frankly that’s what you're known for. Most of the “regulars” that have been here since day one are getting a little annoyed with stuff like that and in fact, Troll has been banning folks for that same reason (which I applaud.) If you want to be a part of what’s going on and actually contribute something positive, that’s cool… if not, save it for the other forums.

I deleted a longer post because I really don't feel like going in circles with you.

I'll take my shots happily, I'll admit to my faults and admit when I'm wrong. And I'll apologize when I feel I should. But to call me out alone on immature, or frankly useless posts, is pretty narrow sighted when a large portion of the comments made on here are of similar nature and intent.

And I'll debate whatever I damn well please, you certainly are. Especially in the off topic forum, telling me to only debate car stuff. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me...

And just because you're a "regular from day one" doesn't mean this is your forum OR that you or your opinion matter any more than mine does. And honestly, I haven't heard a word from troll about my conduct except for two infractions that really had nothing to do with any of the "debates" I've been included in.

If you actually read what I said (and stop getting upset) you would’ve notice I never said you’re post was useless, and if you’re not up to going in circles with me I understand (you may want to quit while your ahead.) It doesn’t appear you’re able to take much heat when it’s dished back at you.

not really sure what you're talking about other than I said "opinions are just like assholes" and that I assumed, incorrectly, the focus of a magazine?

And the rest of the quoted entry really doesn't merit much of a response other than: :bigeek: not sure how you got that I was upset or that I'm not able to handle a little e-thuggin'

The first post in this thread is directed towards people who call you names and such yet you seem to have NO problem calling other people names... I dont get it?
On another note, you made this thread in a serious manner and now that there are quite a few people who have called you out you say it is amusing?

I am no longer going to post in here.

the thread is neither directed towards you nor directed to people that call me names. The first part I can give you some slack with, I can understand why you'd think that... but the latter part? Its about as called for as your reply to me in the vick's thread...

Did it not occur to you that the tone of the thread could have changed over the course of a day? I did mention a few times that a good debate amuses me... this is fairly decent right now.
