Can someone help me. I just bought a Turbo XS Standerd MBC from extreme psi , i installed it properly and turned the boost to 14 psi. Well my gauge only reads 11, so i pop'd my hood, and the boost controller has a hissing sound coming from it, so i took the hoses off and put them back on, and put new zip ties on. So i try it again, still a hissing noise. Then i put water all around the hoses to see if i see bubbles. nope , none. The noise sounds like it is coming from the 13mm bolt on the side? The thing is brand new, and i just installed it. So wtf is the deal with it? im starting to think i got a defective mbc. Someone please help me.

thats possible, i have the same mbc as you and havnt had a single prob with it since i got it 3 years ago. You check your ic hoses?

yea, i can hear the noise coming from the mbc, it is pretty loud. I can only hear it when its idleing, and leaning under the hood. but it is clearly leaking.

Did you zip tie all the hoses that are connecting?

i zip tied all the hose's, and i made sure they where all tight. For some reason, the boost wont tune up or down, it stays at 11, and there is a hissing noise from the mbc... im kinda afraid to even drive it, i dont want it to spike above 14.

Some mbc's (joe p) are designed to leak a certain amount of air to aid in the equalization of pressure. Can you see or feel where it is coming from? Obviously I haven't heard it so I can't say whether it is an "acceptable" leak or is just clearly broken. If you can't build boost it is a major problem. Is it really loud? I wouldn't think that it should leak at idle. My joe p. doesn't "leak" much at idle but when performing boost leak tests you can hear some air really pushing out of the opening.

maybe theres a faulty spring or ball bearing inside the mbc causing air to leak, maybe even the bolt thread is to small or large causing boost to leak

At idle the mbc should be seeing no pressure at all so the ball should still be seated closing the valve completely. Not even the vent hole should leak until the valve has opened under pressure.
Is this mbc a ball and spring design?
You are positive that you have it hooked up correctly?
