basically i'm bored and wanted to know your guys opinion. i currently have an 86 mustang gt which i like but i have been around imports for a long time (my brother had all kinds of imports throughout high school and college) and want to get into some auto x and maybe try some drifting out, etc. once i sell the mustang i'm looking at:
- FC RX-7
- S13 or maybe an S14
- N/A MR2
What would you go with and why? also make other suggestions if you have one. i have around $3500 to spend.

When it comes to Japanese cars I've always been a Toyota fan (despite the fact that they've now abandoned the enthusiast) so I'd go with the MR2.

I would go with the s13. Why? not because I have one but because they are cheap and easy to drift. The MR2 would be my second choice, fun little cars but harder to drift because of over steer but handle great. It's hard to find a RX7 with low miles and I've heard that they die around 100,000 miles, plus with the rotaries, if you have no idea how to work on them it will be a nightmare. I have heard many stories of people taking their RX7 to mechanics who had no idea what they were doing when it came to those motors.

I would go FC, since I owned a non-turbo back when I lived on L.I. It was nice and comfy, even the NA had decent power and when I didnt wail on the pedal, I got decent fuel efficiency. Problem is, the engines (since they are older) will like to overheat. And they do consume alot of oil, even if its not smoking. If it is, its like a quart of oil every 3 days or so. They are costly to rebuild and engine, but you can buy the turbo 13B cheap online. But I love Mazda's. So all that doesn't matter.

I'd probably go with an s13 just because its a hatchback and parts seem to be pretty cheap. I know it's not Japanese but $3500 can also buy you a decent E30 3 series Bmw.
