yea so i wasnt paying attention when i took it apart 3 weeks ago. im assuming that the dowels on the cam gears both point up at TDC but i just want to make absolutely sure before i put it together. since the marks on the cam gears can line up both ways. any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Yes the dowls should be both strait up while the notches line up for #1 to be TDC

ok so im told now that these are not stock cams. they have a "B" printed on each cam. now that its all back together i have low compression on all cylinders. it goes 60 40 40 60. i had the head checked out and resurfaced and was told that it is good. the only thing that i can see is that it looks like there would be too much overlap. i think that the exhaust cam is 180 degrees off. i have no idea what kind of cams these are. any help would be appreciated. i need this car done tomorrow.

ok i found that the intake cam should have the "B" marked on it. is it possible to have an intake cam installed on the exhaust side? is there supposed to be some kind of gain from this? im trying to find out more about this engine but im not sure who built it or what was used.
