Where:Tyler State Park in Newtown, PA
Date: Saturday April 9th
Time:12 noon until 5ish (or sundown)
Cost:$5 per car, to cover permit fees

UPDATE 4/2: the meet has to be postponed again due to rain. the new date will be Saturday April 9th. It sucks to keep having to change it but we have no choice.

UPDATE 3/20: The meet was posponed due to rain but has been rescheduled for Sunday April 3rd, two weeks from now. Please verify that you can still attend and can still bring the food that you committed to. If not please speak up so we can find someone else to cover the food. Thanks!

UPDATE 3/18:
i just wanted to post a warning that there is a chance of postponing the meet two weeks... April 3rd would be the raindate. tell everyone you know just to make sure the word gets out. i am not postponing the meet right now, but will make the official call sunday morning by 10am at the latest just so those who are coming from farther away know if they should start the trip or not

UPDATE 3/10: I have secured the Hickory Nut Picnic Area for the entire day. It is gated and will allow us to have an entire area to ourselves in order to park all together and hang out and grill or whatever we want to do. There is a permit fee involved in this and as a result I am asking $5 per car to cover those costs.
Also note that the rangers in the park have full police power and actively moniter the speed at which cars are travelling within the park. Your behavior at the meet represents the group as a whole, and stupidity will not be tolerated.

DIRECTIONS
From the South: Take I-95 North to the Newtown/Yardley Exit #49. Make a left at the light at the top of the ramp onto Route 332/Newtown Bypass. Go down about 4 miles (7-8 lights) and you will see Tyler Rd. and the park entrance on your left. Take Tyler Rd. down about a half mile or so until you come to a stop sign. Make a right at the stop sign and follow that road around about 3/4 mile until you see an entrance to Hickory Nut Picnic Area on your left. There should be a sign saying it is reserved for TriStateTuners.com. Enter.

I would be donw. I went to a VW meet there before. Good times, only ticky part is finding all the back roads and stuff that are hidden in the place. I say we wait until it get a litle warmer out, but thats me. I like being outside and all but i also like being warm. We were trying to plan a big meet when we got more members, this could be a great location for that.

Back roads? Theres one main road in and out of the park, there is little side roads, but as long as you stay on the one main road, you will find it, the road ends at the dam.

yo guys, march 20th is only two weeks away... start thinking about the food and drink you'll be bringing to cook. if you all want to organize something as far as that goes be my guest, but it might get a little confusing. i'd say the easiest thing is to bring what you are going to eat/drink plus a bit extra if you want, and everyone should be taken care of. we'll also need charcoal, plates, cups, etc. and there is NO ALCOHOL allowed in the park.
i'm going to give them a call on monday to see if we can reserve a parking lot just for us and how much that would cost. if we can do it then we definitely should and i might ask everyone for $5 to pay for it as the roll in. i assume thats cool so long as we can all have our own space to hang out and have fun.

yeah i tried to find out some info today, and was partially successful. i wont have definite info until i can make another call tomorrow. ideally we will have our own exclusive parking lot and picnic table/grill area and i'll just ask for $5 per car to cover the permit cost. however, it looks like the lot isnt technically rentable until april 15 or something so i have to see if they will open it up for us early.
the ranger said that if the weather was nice we would have serious issues finding an open lot without reserving this one, so i'm hoping it works out.

OK, if it is up to us, Ash and I are out.
We had a few "couples" following us, and if it a regular old meet I don't think it is their kind of thing.
Plus, like I said, I have wheels coming this week, Ash has stuff this week....so in two weeks we should be all set.
I would like to have this meet be the big spring kick off, not a rainy pseudo meet. So I am calling postonement for myself and Ash.

The other kicker is that the NASIOC cruise to Cape May was also rescheduled to the 3rd. Damn it.
