Hey guys I just started with my head rebuild. When it's done I'll have a solid motor ready for mods. I'm debating wether to go with the ct26 upgrade or the 60-1 t4.
I have a t4 manifold, but I also have 3" downpipe. The elbow for the 60-1, would that work for my downpipe?
I know I tried to do this befor but this time I'm gonna try to keep it alive. feel free to talk about your plans for mods and give me advice.
I think i'm gonna stick with the ct26 because it's cheeper. instead of buying a external wastegate and elbow and turbo but if someone knows somthing I don't don't be scared to let me know.

I am about to start my rebuild... as soon as i can find a car for the winter. prob gonna start next weekend. 89 supra 1jz.
not gonna be a major rebuild just:
replacing all seals and gaskets in engine
upgrading injectors (my 440's are pushing thier limits)
replacing clutch and flywheel
replacing damaged rack
upgrading cams and cam gears
replacing timing belt
replacing doors, hatch, front bumper
and hopefully thats it.
i got all winter so i will prob end up adding more **** to the list.
Good luck with your rebuild. i can't really give you any advice as i just getting into supras. just got this couple months ago.

What engine is in it now? I had assumed the car was out of comission until I met you outside the theatre at KOP.

the 7mgte I was trying to salvage it but i don't know now. I might just throw the 2j motor in it if I can't salvage it. i'll know by the end of the day. The head is perfect except for being dirty.
I just got a drive way now so if things get bad I will get the 2j and slowly put it in.

What Have you done now? What I'm trying to do is get a group started so we can work on our cars together. I'm so suprised How everyone has the lone wolf temp. I'm tring to step it up. I offered plenty of times to help people but most people just go on their own. I mean I'll even bring beers!! well, I'll see what will happen. My supra will have the head on in a couple of days. I will then be fully built. hopefully I will be ready for mods. in the mean time I want to learn more so let me know if you need a hand or anyone else.
I need to be smarter :o

Sounds like a good idea man, and let us know how the head work goes. If I had time to work on my car during any decent hours, I would be interested, but 90% of the work I do is done at 12 or 1am, since its my only free time until the semester ends

hks 1.2mm
block and head perfect shape no warpage. I got lucky when it did overheat I didn't let it get too hot.
I got lucky to an extent. still got rodknock. wasn;t that lucy.
now bottom end done, valve seals replaced, head ajusted, arp bolts. I should be good to go
:supz:
now all I need is slotted rotors, new pads and ebach lowering springs. only then I can start the serious mods.
