Not sure if I should do a real polish, or if I should get the Techline Chromex ceramic coating which will provide a thermal barrier and give a polished look to the turbo.
Anyone have experience with polishing and have any recommendations on what to do or where to go?
TIA

I had my Greddy intake manifold for my SR20 Polished. Cost me $200. It was about 10hours of work. It is completly flawless though.

It used to look like this. (this is an S13 manifold. Mine is an S14)

If you dont have a buffing wheel and all the cutting compounds/ polishing compounds, it's a HUGE PITA to do yourself.

I like the crinkle red. Leave it.

aw but the turbo has to come off for a leaking oil line anyway, i just wanna switch things up a little bit...
and ttt... you didnt say where you got it done... thats what i'm looking for.
i could have the chromex coating done for $55 at performancecoatings.com (black satin on the exhaust side is also $55, for those interested). i'm just not sure if it will leave me with a true polished look or more of a gloss silver paint look.

I had it done by a local polisher here in Michigan.
You need to find a chassic car restoration place or a hot rod shop somewhere local to you. Alot of peices on restored hot rods need to be polished.

there is a place in jobstown called steve's polishing. He's soooo nice with polishing. He's expensive, but it will look like chrome. All he does is motorcycles and hotrod ****.
let me know if you decide to go the polished route...
can do it for you.. if your interested.. recent pic of the last housing ive done..
the second pic is at 75 percent complete... finishing off the casting imperfections..

You can send the turbo to me. I'll "polish" it, but cant guarantee that I'll send it back to ya.:-p
