Alright I got ahold of him. Its a 1985 Suzuki GS 700es. He just replaced the head gasket and some other gaskets, it has Kn airfilters/intakes (4 of them) and a Supertrapp exhaust. Its in good shape nothing wrong when he was working on it took one of the plastic body peices off and the clip broke its like a $25 piece nothing to noticable I dont think.

Its a little older than what I'm looking for, but for a first bike it wouldn't be too bad. I'll take his number and give a call to see how much he wants for it. Also if theres anyway to get an actual pic of the bike, that would be great, thanx for your help.

$6000.00 or $6500.00 with jacket, helmet etc.
That may be a little more expensive than you were looking for but its really a beautiful bike and well maintained. I know the guy selling it well.

I have an 1989 Kawasakin Ninja ZX600. It just had the carburetors rebuilt and synchronized. Its a good first bike to learn on. It comes with a clear title. One of the front brake calipers is semi-seized and needs to be rebuilt or replaced, ( I have seen used calipers on ebay for $20). Other then that the bike runs pretty good and will pull the front wheel off the ground if your not careful. Both tires are brand new.
Im looking to get $900 OBO for the bike. I have a lot more invested into the bike in just parts (not even including labor).

The bike is just covered in fur. The previous owner told me that when he bought it the guy attempted to paint the bike himself and it was a really poor paint job. He had this great idea to cover it in fur. Truthfully the bike gets a lot of interesting looks, it makes the bike even that much more fun to ride.

Get the 85' Suzuki GS700. You can always upgrade when you learn to ride. I'm buying my friend's 97' GS500 since it will be my first (and I'm not in a hurry to die). If you don't like that body style, get an 04'. It looks more like a sportbike. I suggest getting something old, b/c if you drop it (or crash) you won't loose much. The same friend crashed his R6 and his front end is gone. $2500-3 in damage right there...and he started out as a kid on dirt bikes. Like the saying goes, It doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride. If you really need to have a 600 and the sportbike image, a 2000 R6 or a GSX-R can be found for around $3k (depending on miles). Lots of $$ for insurance, though. I think the Kawasaki's are the cheapest in terms of insurance.
The 6's are too much bike for me right now (100hp vs 70hp), so I'm starting small. I'm trying to take the MSF course, but I probably won't get in as a walk on. Don't forget you need gear. At the very least- helmet, gloves, and a jacket (pref. leather). If you need gear, goto Crossroads Powersports in Upper Darby and ask for Derrick Osner. Stay away from Joe Rocket, but Alpinestar & Icon stuff are pretty good. Stay away from Cycle City too.

Might as well wait until winter to buy one, alot of people will be selling, and for cheap. Once the weather gets nice pick one up then. I made the mistake of getting mine this time of year, I had a month to ride it then it got nasty out.

I did my seat in fur when i put the new fairings on my bike, I seen a few bikes completly covered in it once i was at fat tuesdays on south street and seen a gsxr go by done with it, but it was done in the way like the graphics were, all blue and white fur. Looked pretty cool
