Picked up this '06 Evo IX from D'Ambrosio Mitsu in Downingtown. Zero knicks, scratches, or anything...only 19k miles on it. Fell in love instantly. It came with some NASTY white pinstripes which I had off the next morning...before I even had a picture of the car.

10-12-07

Got the first pics of the car. First mod- pinstripe removal.

I take the Evo down to Warminster for my first Auto-X event. LOVE how this car handles! We placed 2nd in BSP.

A local road racer offers me a set of 5zigen FN01Rs with Hoosier R6s mounted on them. Can't pass this offer up. So, new wheels for the Evo. :-p

11/06/07

Got the next round of mods on the car...
*JMF sheetmetal intake manifold
*JMF upper intercooler pipe
*JMF small battery kit
*JMF coolant catch can
*JMF spark plug cover

The manifold actually gives the Evo amazing top end performance and doesn't sacrifice low end torque (according to the butt dyno). It feels like a completely new car!

I took the Evo down to Philly Dyno Works for some tuning. With the help of a good friend who drove up from MD we make some vast improvements to the car. My first run netted me 281whp...a couple runs later we're up to 323whp. :bigeek: Gotta say i'm happy....for now. :-p

Next round of mods includes a twin disc, injectors, fuel pump, AFPR, cams, and a bigger turbo.

Nice!!

Good thinking with the twin disc clutch...what brand are you looking into?

Probably going with the Exedy for drivability sake.

I have an Exedy twin HD on my EVO..I seriously cannot imagine another clutch being better for this car, just be carefull with the retaining clip:oProbably going with the Exedy for drivability sake.

did the manifold actually do any good ive always heard with stock turbos it hurts the performance, im just curious

PEak poer should increase but you will sacrifice spoolup and low rpm power from lack of velocity with the larger overall volume and runner size normally associated with a SMIM, but this is pure speculation as I am not familliar with this peice.did the manifold actually do any good ive always heard with stock turbos it hurts the performance, im just curious

yeah thats why i was asking i wasnt sure if there was dynoing before and after the install, i know its great with big turbo cars, but i was just curious

The manifold had a huge impact on performance according to my butt dyno and real dyno numbers. The age old myth that you will lose torque down low is just that...a myth. We have a soon to released dyno chart showing torque numbers higher than stock the entire way to redline.

But in real life terms...I'm glad I put it on this early. The car actually pulls past 7500 on stock cams and turbo. I can't ask for more honestly.

It is amazing how much the FN01Rs in black brought out the color of the Brembos. Awesome.

since i know you will be doing injectors soon....i'm calling dibbs on those things now, they should work perfectly for the setup i've got planned. they are 560cc's right?

Yeah his car is going to be nice with injectors and a fuel pump with a reflash and really take advantage of that IM! Subscribed!

Went out to Atco for a night of racing. Weather was COLD and it showed. Tons of wrecks, oil downs, spinning, etc. Only got 2 runs in because of that.

First run the stock clutch slipped pretty bad on the launch netting me a 1.9 60'. Ended up getting locked out of 3rd somehow and ran a 13.0@ 109. Not a bad mph for a crappy pass.

2nd pass ended up toasting the clutch BAD off the launch...slipped all the way to the top of 2nd. Ran a 13.1@111. Pretty happy with the mph based on the mods so I know the car has a 12.5 in it the way it sits (with a new clutch). So, it looks like an Exedy twin is in my NEAR future. :D

My buddy has an Exedy twin on his Rsti and it's awesome. That will be my next clutch.

I bought myself a Canon 400d right before Christmas so it was finally time to venture out and find a nice place for pics. I'm still working on figuring this camera out but I don't think they came out too bad. Tips are appreciated if you're a photography buff.

Also a new addition to the Evo... Ralliart replica CF front lip. Fitment is PERFECT! PM me if you're interested in getting one.

Have a couple parts on order as well...

*GSC S2 cams
*Dual valve springs and retainers
*Seibon CF vortex generator
*JDM Evo IX rear bumper

haha..pretty much. I drove around this state park for a while. There were some cool spots but no way to get the car near them. :(
