I haven't really posted on TST in a while, when I did a couple months ago I was more of a lurker than a poster....but whatev. I went to a couple area1320 thursday nights and some allentown applebee's meets. I was also at the BlownEuroz meet.... I was "that hyundai that did a burnout"

I own a 2005 Hyundai Elantra GLS....Turbo. I posted some pics a while ago of my rims and brakes, but hell, never did a member journal.

Just for the record, I have NO ABILITY WITH A CAMERA

The car started out as an automatic, and stock it dynoed in @ 103whp 104wtq.

I have yet to get it dynoed with the turbo and manual transmission, but people running my exact setup are at ABOUT 200whp/230wtq....so I HOPE to be at that level or better when I go later this month.

This car kicks ass and is my own little Korean STI :finga:

Nice Elantra...I have a Hyundai Accent with the same engine and tranny as you but from a 2002 Elantra. It used to have turbo, but was taken off. Good job with the car though.

How does it ride being lowered?

Wow that would totally catch me off guard on the street. Very nicely done, upload dyno sheets or 1/4 times when you get them, I'm interested in how well it'll do.

Very cool. What are you using for fuel management? Hows the torque steer?

Not sure yet, haven't dyno'd it yet, but hopefully around the 200whp mark.

yeah, with work I have no time to wash it by hand like I used to :(

How does it ride being lowered?

with the tib struts and the lowering springs, it rides so nice. Not bumpy at all, but stiff.

Very cool. What are you using for fuel management? Hows the torque steer?

The torque steer isnt that bad when I have my 17 inch rims on the car, because they are spaced out and it alters the steering input and feedback. However I installed my stock steels and winter tires on last week and WOW, I got in it and switched lanes un-intentionally. lol.

The turbo kit included the following:
TD04-13g Turbo w/ 10psi wastegate
medium sized intercooler (not sure what size)
stock hyundai sonata 290cc injectors (actually flow 310)
5th injector @ 660cc
Pre-Tuned Unichip & T-Module ("tuned" up to 12psi)

I am still running the stock diameter flex pipe and second cat, so the boost is quite restricted. I don't hit 10psi unless it's under a load such as going up hill, and only in 3rd gear and above. When I get a bigger flex pipe to match my downpipe and cat back, the car will have an instant 10 pounds at about 2200-2500rpm.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Hopefully by the spring I will have it all fixed...... and I'll have some custom 272 Colt Cams I am having reground installed ;)

looks good James. You haven't even put all the turbo pics up on EXD yet you ass. Next spring, We'll go heads up from a dig with someone video taping. Turbo 02 vs turbo 05.

Also, can't wait to tune that damned unichip. It has such HORRIBLE tune on it. I'll let you know when I have time and I'll up with the software and wideband.

edit: yup he has a front mount on it.

Very sweet Hyundai! It has to be fast just for the power to weight ratio.

An intercooler is almost necessary for that setup, at least a small one. I'm sure you will feel a noticeable power gain with just a small one. IC kits are very inexpensive now-a-days.

Keep us posted!

I'll give you credit for playing with a car that is so unsupported by the general aftermarket.

hahaha, yes. I was friends with justin when I was younger. I've changed a lot.

I was like wtf snow?

The car sounded that way cause the welds for the exhaust snapped and I wasn't running any kind of muffler :furious: so I've painted the little stock muffler "sleeper-black" as my friends call it and I've bolted it back on.

So right now it's making even LESS boost :(

Island huh? hmmm. I really need to go before end of the season. Count me in.

and guys, my kit DOES have an intercooler...altho it's not placed in the best spot

ur bumper sucks for intercoolers James. You need to get a new one or modify it somehow to get more air across it. Orrrr get some sort of sprayer

Keyan, you do need a new bumper. Maybe like this one:
