Good thing they didn't misquote the Veyron.
It's only 1.3M, and it's not a set production. They're still making more.
Plus, it's MX, so it's going to get off the line much quicker, has forged internals and 4 (yes 4) turbochargers, and the torque LINE, not curve, LINE is better overall. 922lb-ft from 2200rpm all the way to 5500rpm...straight. It's a peak and hold.
Also has a 2.9s 0-60, AND has a 7spd sequential due to having too much acceleration.
They have not found a way to reach the top speed, as it is NOT limited. They estimate 252, but they haven't really been able to test it out, and really, would you want to risk crashing a 1.3m car? I wouldn't. Not one that's this gorgeous.
The Veyron is a car that's way out of the league of most if not all of the cars they named. It's got massive straight line acceleration and massive cornering abilities. It would spank the 1000TT, NQA, and looks better doing it.
*edit*
BTW, I noticed this is the same as the other 3 kits they made with the roadster of varying horsepower...one of which produced the same results as this...go figure.
And the roadster is somehow a lighter weight than the coupe, which I think is backwards to the norm.
**edit 2**
Porsche Carrera GT is 612hp, limited to 217, and is 440k
Mercedes SLR McLaren is 400k
Ferrari Enzo is 650hp, limited to 217mph and is 643k
Good thing a performance company gets their facts straight.

What would the drivetrain be?
It says T56 trans, which is a Tremec unit. Better have the mother of all clutches, too, like a triple-plate racing one
I'll take a Carrera GT over this thing. That car is uber-sexy.

RWD.
You get a choice of a 5spd manual or a 2spd Glide.
Personally, I doubt it will have any traction. Dyno queen.
I'd definitely take that money to buy it and use it as a down payment on a Veyron.
*edit*
Did I also mention the Veyron gets sick gas mileage of like 23mpg city?
And so you know, the Hennessy kit that they did on the lighter v10 only got 9 city, 18 highway. And Vipers have small tanks, if I remember correctly.

I heard rumors at the Philly car show this year Dodge was toying around with making a AWD SRT-4 in the next few years. Maybe they should focus more of their performance efforts to cars like that - that we can actually afford  It's beautiful, but I'll never drive one.

For something that's got that much power, and can do more than accelerate in a straight line (ie: actually handle on tight consecutive turns and still manage to look great, while being awesome on gas mileage for having 16 cylinders and 64 valves) it's definitely worth it.
And it's about time they got rid of that neon bodystyle. *shiver*

Not for the same price as the neon body style, it won't.

I think the replacement for the srt4 is going to be using that global engine that hyundai mitsu and dcx came up with. 4 cyl non turbo last i read. Who knows though, its all speculation til its unveiled at a car show.

Basically that's what the Mopar guys were saying at the Philly show this year. Dodge was axing the Neon, the SRT-4 would stand alone (w/out the Neon name) and that it would go to a AWD setup similar to that of the Evo. I'm just repeating what I heard, I haven't seen anything in any mags yet. It definitaley won't be the affordable price the SRT is now, whatever it ends up being.

Right. If it's planting out about 300 stock like the rumors are saying, I'd venture a guess that would put the awd beast up with the STI in price. Mopar knows how to price their power.

Either way, the next generation of sports cars coming out between like 2007-2010 will be absolutely rediculous. evo x, sti, skyline, bunch of factory beefed up stangs, new camaro/goat, new RWD tibouron, challenger, who knows what else. When the SRT is paid off, im going to trade it in and go Nutzo on one of these cars :supz: :supz: :supz: :supz:

Where the hell do people keep getting this new camaro BS? It's NOT being made.
I haven't heard anything on the Challenger, but I've seen a few rumor pics of a new Cuda with no performance packages coming stock with the 6.1L hemi...

Here is what I know and have heard rumored about the next SRT-4..
FACT: The replacement for the neon is the "suv thing" which is just a hatchback.. not an suv. powered by the DCX/Mitsu/Hyundai "world" engine
FACT: A sedan or coupe version may or may not follow
FACT: There could be more than 1 new SRT-4, one of which could be an srt version of the hatchback
RUMOR(VERY good source): an upcoming SRT-4 will share the EVO-X platform and again, a derivitive of the world engine.
RUMOR(VERY good source): there is a strong possibility [finally!] of a rwd SRT-4 roadster.. this has been in chryslers heads for years when they were kicking around the RAZOR concept
The next generation compact car is currently being designed and engineered by a joint team that consist Chrysler and Mitsubishi. If you take the early platform specs from the Mitsubishi Tarmac concept, the wheelbase is no longer than 99-inch, which is 6-inch shorter than the current 2005 Neon. While both engineering groups are cohesive in building this common platform, the final cars will be very different in character. Insiders already remarked, that the Dodge version would have some design cue element from the PT Cruiser and latest Pacifica.
In North America and Europe, dealerships will be getting the Chrysler version. Even it is sold under the Mitsubishi nameplate. In Asia, the Middle East, and South America, dealerships will be getting the Mitsubishi version. Dodge dealerships will be receiving the Mitsubishi version.
The next generation compact car, Dodge and Mitsubishi versions will have unique interiors and exteriors, including different suspension tuning for various models.
The illustration of the roadster is a dead link now but the poster says it is to be shown in September...
but like some others said.. we'll know for sure when we can see it.

i'd rather have this 1000HP SRT motor.
800HP on the turbo, 1100 w/Nitrous on top.
runs between 45-55psi of boost.
