Welp this is the last day the coilovers will be on the car until next year. Figured I'd snap some pics before. Unfortuneately I drove all the way to the lake and here I forgot to put a memory card in the camera, so I ended up having to come home, and didn't feel like going back. So these are just by my house.

OK i dont get this. I post a picture of my show car and you guys tear me to shreds talking about this is crap and **** like that. But he post a pic of a stock car on coilovers and people are like thats nice loks good. Thats bull ****. Most people appreciate a clean stock car. The more you modify your car, the fewer people have the exact same taste as you. Therefore, there are more of them to give you ****. Deal with it.

first off watch what you say. The car posted is set up specifically for auto-xing. It is an extremely competative car in STS. Please note that this car is no where near stock suspension wise. Most people do not share the same taste that you do with focusing on the looks aspect of the vehicle. I on one hand am all about how the car actually performs on the auto-x course, and Adam's car is right there at the top. Always remember everyone has different tastes and you need to modify your car to how you like it.
Also Adam I'm guessing your not making it down to Ripken this weekend?

Wheels/stance make a big difference on the Saturns, I like it :)

Thanks for the backup guys hahah. EvoNeon, that's not a start, the car is finished already hahah. It's already maxed out to the rules of the SCCA STS class, and that is pretty much where it is staying. I care very much about looks and a nice clean car. You'll never see any kind of kit or spoiler on my car. Personally Saturn's look pretty much like garbage with a kit.
The amount of work I went through with this car is pretty high. Remember it's a Saturn. They don't make, anything for it. Coilovers were one-offs at the time just a few months ago. I was doing testing for the company who has now produced another 13 sets, and that is it. Swaybar custom, swaybar brackets and endlinks custom, intake custom, exhaust custom, the header was only produced for about 1 year and took me ages to come across one.
You have to remember I used to own a 91 Civic Si that was just about maxed out in this class as well. That car was a piece of cake to modify as there are thousands of parts out there for it. I've always been into Saturns since my first car, and I wanted to make one to compete with the civics that dominate the STS class. So that car was sold and I built this one last winter.
TTsupra911, I won't be down Ripken. I've got to work on Sunday night, and Saturday morning as well for a bit.

EvoNeon, please don't get all e-hurt. Your car is a show car which shows off your particular tastes. Show cars tend to be a bit gaudy (IMO) and lend themselves to a lot of criticism all in the name of originality for show points. But that taste is easy to argue because it's an opinion. It's the internet and everyone has one, get used to it.
On the other hand, it's hard to not like a nice clean lightly modified car, especially one that most here know has solid performance merits. And you can't argue performance and raw numbers, check out his results some time. Adam's car is a top STS autocross car that requires a lot of custom modification and little details not visible to the naked eye in pursuit of ultimate performance. I myself run into the same thing with my STX car, as someone recently asked if it was stock with wheels...but far from it and maxed to the extent of the STX rules framework. Like Adam (but not as bad), they don't really make much for B15 Sentras so we've had to custom fabricate some of our own parts. I can appreciate the work and detail that Adam has put into it.
Adam, car looks nice. I was a little thrown off at first that you would run the car that low until you explained it was just for pictures. Mine will be getting a suspension and wheel/tire overhaul this winter. Hopefully we can run (kind of) against each other again soon. I haven't seen the car since Divisionals. Keep up the good work. ;)

I've been kicking around possibly moving over to STX so it might be a better battle then you think hahah. My car would really really benefit from a wider front tire, plus the added bonus of LSD is also a hmmmm moment. :D
I don't see if happening in 08 though hahah. Have you started looking at the new tire options yet for ST? The Kumho and Toyo specifically.
BTW - I'm sure you'll probably be down Ripken this weekend lol. Figures since I won't be hahah. I imagine our times are probably very close right now, it would be a great battle.

This is when I first got the Civic, after some little touches. Left the vinyls on for maybe half the season, and then they had to go hahah. The car was still the previous owners with the graphics on it, and I never used any of those companies anyway.

Well then you would beat me by benefit of the STS PAX then. :-p
Come on over to STX, you'll have a blast beating WRX's. I was originally planning on running the Bridgestones next year, but with the introductions from Kumho and Nitto I'll have to wait and see what people's opinions are. I'm planning on bumping to a 245/40/17 next year on 17x8's from 235/40/17's on 17x7.5's. Also doing an entirely new suspension, changing from Tein Basics to a Koni/GC setup and bumping the spring rates up to around 500lbs. front and rear. Going to get 450/500/550 and play around to see what works best.

Yeah, I think Mike's in another Civic hatch, 92-95 one though. Still has some work to do to be fully prepped though at least last time I saw it.
Adam likes teal cars, what does that say about him? :-p

Mike has a black 93 Si Hatch now. He used to have some pretty off looking cars before the blue 00 Civic Si. He jokes about it now hahah.
Anyway, yea STX would be a blast. I already beat the wrx's handily with my current setup hahah. Toyo is coming out with a 140 treadwear, and a 245/35x17 size. That would be teh sex on the coupe hahah. Otherwise I'd probably use a 235/40x17. 245/40 is slightly taller then I am willing to go.
Hahah sweet STS pax, we are only like .003 or something behind you guys. Pax would get so much easier for me as well lol. Not like it already isn't too easy. I have a feeling ST is going to take a hit this year hahah.

Yeah, initial read from Rick Ruth is that the increasing peformance and size offerings of ST* tires will lend to a decent PAX increase in the ST* classes. I heard a rumor that STX is going from .808 to .821 I believe. Dammit!
I do hear there a possible 245/35/17 tire coming out. The 245/40/17 tire is just slightly taller than stock 215/45/17 size from a gearing perspective. I've been tempted to try a 245/45/17 tire since the Spec V gearing is already too short, but I don't really want to sacrifice the response with the shorter sidewall. Of course, I just need more money so I can buy multiple tire sizes and see what works best. My wife would love that one! So far the only place that's really hurt me with gearing is Warminster, and especially so at Divisionals. The guy in the RSX that beat me by a tenth over two days, I beat at Ripken by about a half second, and I haven't really had many issues at Fed Ex. I could probably gain some mph up top without losing too much low end due to the QR25 torque, but I don't know how much transistional response would suffer. I'll probably go with 245/40/17 though as it's the safest choice.
Also leaning towards the new Kumho if the price and performance are right. At least Kumho has contingency compared with Falken...like I really need to worry though. :-p

I had the oppurtunity to see this car run in person at the PA State Championships. All I can say is damn that thing is on a rail. You've reaffirmed my love for that body style Saturn, and I hope to see/run the auto-x with you guys next year. I auto-crossed for the first time at the State championships and it won't be my last time. It's a drug. Nice job on the Saturn.
