As a Kimi fan, i'm a bit upset with McLaren trying to appeal themselves into a drivers title. Lewis Hamilton choked, plain and simple. Kimi won more races. He should be given the title. But an interesting facet is Alonso...I never quite viewed him as a "standup" gent, but he actually opposes McLaren getting the title like this; nevermind that he and Lewis Hamilton hate each other, or that he will prolly be gone from McLaren come next season. But it says a lot for someone on a team to say they don't deserve it, and he's right, it'd but a significant cripple on the sport if Lewis "backed" into the title.

Thoughts? There's gotta be more F1 fans here!

I actually read that Hamilton was opposed to it as well but McLaren (management) are appealing because they feel that the team has been treated unfairly which is sorta kinda true. Ferrari was caught with illegal components in their car after Kimi won the first race in Australia, but the FIA let it slip, that alone is enough to cost McLaren the drivers title.

I didn't agree with the removal of the constructor points for McLaren, I figured a fine and some added scrutiny to the team would've been enough for me because they truly had a remarkable season. I don't agree that they should get the drivers title through disqualification of another teams drivers. But I do agree that maybe the teams should be fined and take a constructor points penalty instead of the FIA turning the other cheek.

Anyways GO KIMI! Congrats on your 1st title!!
