fc3s turbo II (blown)

anyone hear of a brand new built engine blowing up because of empty gas tank under load ? or is something else wrong ? any info would be appreciated

What is it doing, how many miles? Stock fuel pump?

i had it rebuilt by a rep. shop well leave it (nameless) ... street port the whole 9 ... 0 miles got it tuned then took it out not even 2 miles down the road it died so i killed the engine and thats where im at right now ... i was told it ran out of gas and it blew up casue it was under load but i wasnt even in boost when it died :furious:

did you allow the engine to break-in before driving it under heavy load and having it tuned?

fuel starving? maybe it leaned out. is it a stock fuel pump?

engine was tunned by the rebuilder under hard load no problems .... walbro 255 fuel pump no problems there that i know of ... and when it blew i wasnt under much load at all 3k maybe .... couldnt see no head lights at midnight wasnt going more than 30mph ....

something just seems off to me, did u see white smoke out the exhaust and have a lack of power and then it shut off...

or was there a "blow up" situation u mentioned earlier....? seems a tad early in its life to be the drivers fault! dont blame urself just yet bro

yea well i was told it was my fault due to no gas ... the front housing had no compression ???? sound right ???

thats what theyre telling me not a full one though ... a housing and some other **** im just so pissed its been like a year and some odd months im just sick of it ... shouldve put a sr in it with the amount im spending

This sounds very very fishy. Any rebuilder worth their salt would atleast tell you to drive the car for 500 miles or so to break the motor in. Especially if it has 0 bench testing on it. Many go as far as to tell you to drive it 2k miles (which is what I did on my first rebuild). If it was fuel starvation then it would either have done 2 things
1.) The engine would experience detonation because of too much air and too little fuel which would probably have had some effect on your apex seals over the housing cover.
2.) Just shut off if it wasnt under load.

The fact that they are blaming this on you immediatly is pretty bad.

i really dont think it was u, come to my work and ill run a comp check on it. they seem pretty quick to pass the buck. 2 miles is not enuff to kill that engine, i dont care how hard u try. it may have been assembled improperly....where do u live, come see me

well the only thing i can tell you is time to learn how to build it yourself. it might come out cheaper. OR (what i would do) get my lawyer on the phone and start making some moves!

i agree with option two. have someone else run a comp test and if it comes up weaksauce then make some phone calls. there is no way its ur fault at 2 miles....2,000 miles is another thing, but 2 miles is like wtf it didnt even warm up yet and it took a crap? thats bs man....

if u wanna drive an hr to langhorne ill run the test myself at my work, i work for mazda
