I picked it up, the first Halo I have actually bought and I think it's awesome. You have to realize you can't make everyone happy and some just love to bitch. Every other site gave it good reviews. I thought the graphics and gameplay were top notch. Not perfect but a lot better then 99% of everything else out there.

I think its funny that soo many people bitch that it is just like just another Halo 2 with crappier weapons and other people want them to bring the maps from halo 2 to halo 3. You can't please everyone and much of what people bitched about can and will most likely be changed by Bungie. They made several adjustments to the physics in Halo 2, so I suspect the same treatment here.

I played Halo 2 from launch day up until last weekend. I suspect Halo 3 will be the same.

Hands down halo 3 is nice. Updated graphics, storyline, guns, and monsters make the game awsome. Once you get your hands on a gravity hammer you won't wanna put it down.

this is a standard reaction for when you create TOO MUCH buzz about something. im a bit upset at which characters they chose to kill off as well, and the one cutscene was dumb as all hell. no way you're gonna crash a thousand ton dropship through a building and not kill everybody involved with the overpressure

i think the hype was justified, if a game has 1million+ presales theres got to be something going on. And it did deleiver exactly what Microsoft wanted, which was the big bucks. As of 12:01am on tuesday it was labeled the highest grossing video game of all times

Reason being was it was within the story line of the games. People that played halo also played halo 2.

But you just can't buy halo 3 expecting to understand it.

its a good game. im enjoying it. however there is a real lack of innovation that you would normally expect in a 360 version. it looks and feels just like halo 1 and 2, and doesn't give you anything new. i guess they were trying to get the game out quickly and not piss off the core group of fans.

as for the levels, all the outdoor maps in the campaign are great, and all the indoor ones are terrible. multiplayer was a lot of fun tho, for the few min i got to play it.

Hands down its sick. The guns I think r nice. Love how you can remove turrets and such. People r juss bitching to start somthing. Eryone thought it was gunna be so different, what do you expect? Its a trilogy, the story must go on.

I love how it multiplayer campaign the 2nd player plays as the supposed enemy from the first 2. Don't spoil it for me, I plan to play this game out for the story...

But still, its a great game, but juss wait. Call of Duty 4 will be the game of the year.

I still think they ruined the "cool unique" feature of the series when they went to dual wielding weapons. It still doesn't feel good and takes away the strategy of picking up the right weapons at the right times. Grenades seem to take a back seat with this too.

akimbo wasnt really new since bungie had it in 94 when marathon came out. and will there is no excuse for deus ex machina, unless its being done for comedy

Yeah I will agree with that, I am halfway through the game and I still haven't used the grenades for anything.

I will admit that after a long session of CoOp last night with my buddy, it was pretty cool. The first level was pretty underwhelming though. Legendary is significantly harder than past Halos, and almost takes the heated battles away. You can't really go in guns blazing anywhere at this difficulty because you are dead in about 3 shots.

I miss the aliens that had the plasma pistols from the 1st 2 Halos. The Brutes are pretty stupid because they almost just let you shot them from a distance. They just don't use cover effectively enough

Dear Bungie,

I'm sorry. I was wrong to judge you early.
Despite the amount of time you spent (waisted) on single player and a story... you did indeed balance, deepen, and pack MUCH more replay value into the multiplayer. My friends and I are very appriciative of little features like the comprehensive replay theater, detachable turret, and the LEVIATHAN rolling fortress.

I heard rumors that gta4 is going to have a multiplayer like world of warcraft, where you can just walk around liberty city and see everyone your playing w/ aka CHAOS. if it turns out that way it will be sick. boo for them delaying it untill next spring 08.

I just beat it the other day. The game starts out kind of slow, but gets way better in the 2nd half. They did a great job with the cutscenes and ending. I was skeptical at first, but the game won me over in the end.

Team Multiplayer is probably the best part.

Anyway, I own all 3 and I have to say, it is the best trilogy of first person shooters I have ever played. What I think most of the hardcore fans that rave about like the fact that bungie took innovation to a new level, and managed to create and base a familiar game on a previous game which was 4 - 5 years old already.

Yes, some people complain and want new weapons, but the way the game is set up, is that the weapons all balance each other out. So far, there aren't any weapons that are far superior to any other, in every given situation. In Halo (1) there was the pistol, it was by far the best weapon in that game, you could 3 shot someone from 5 yards to almost 100 yards. In Halo 2 there was the BR, at the early stages of the game you could, again 3 shot someone but less range, and slightly less accuracy as it fires only 3 rounds per, and its semi-semi-automatic. A few months before Halo 3 came out, people found the glitch of double / quad shooting. In Halo 3... well from what I can see there isn't any gun thats far better then any other.

I'll post my gamertag in the correct topic. And yes, I am a hardcore fan of Halo... if you couldn't guess.
