Just saw this on NASIOC, very saddened by his death. First Burns, now McRae, my thoughts and prayers go out to to both familes who lost people in the crash. RIP McRae, the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.

I feel about this how NASCAR fans felt about Dale. A black day in the WRC, and in racing in general.

****, Mcrae was the absolute man. Lots of these smaller aircraft have killed their pilots (such as that yankee's pitcher who's name escapes me). Man, i'm actually really bummed about this

Holy ****. That really sucks. He was an AWESOME driver. Pretty crazy that he participated in the most dangerous motorsport in the world, but then died in a helicopter crash.

Really sucks. WRC wont be the same.

Cory Lidle, played on the Phillies for 2 years.

Jesus.. this is terrible.. I was hoping it was fake at first. -sigh- We really lost a true pioneer in the subaru/wrc community.

Indeed, very strange irony.

Almost seems like some kind of curse… very sad.

Rather than Dale Earnhardt, it's more like Davey Allison.. the nascar star who died in the 90's in a helicopter crash.

I just meant from a popularity standpoint. He was the face of the WRC for a while, here in the states. I still have all the McRae games for my xbox.

Kevin
09-16-2007, 12:50 PM
Thank god it didn't happen in the states though. Cuz you know we get blamed for everything.

Most invincible rally drive I've ever seen dies in a ****ing helicopter crash.

It's like Steve Irwin all over again.

Why does everyone with a lot of money have to try and fly their own things?

Such a terrible tragedy...
