here is a post from a member on the 3000GT message board about his car. for those who dont feel like reading it all. it ran a 10.1 @ 141 at 14psi second run was at 16psi and it ran a 9.7 @ 146. its gonna be a really sick car, i posted some pics of it after the quote. oh yea btw this car is running some new 3.7l 6G72 pretty sick stuff. later on he posted that his car weighs 27XX pounds which is crazy weight savings considering these cars stock weight 38XXpounds
I had a Exciting night.
My car is running and running grate.
Seeing how the motor has 0 miles on it I convinced my self I was just going to make a few passes on it tonight at lo boost and feel it out. I repeated it to my self over and over on the way to the track, and that I was not going to crank it up at and just run wait gate boost this trip. lol well you know me.... lol
First pass
DSBC set to 0
Peek boost in the run 14.6psi
22 psi in the tires
60ft 1.54
1/8 mile ET 6.61
1/8 mile MPH 108.97
1/4 mile ET 10.12
1/4 mile MPH 141.99 mph
A/f was in the mid 10's all the way down the track
The tires spun BAD all the way threw 1st gear prity much
Shifting at 7500rpm
That’s right 10.12@141.99mph at 14psi!!! I had race gas in the tank (VP unleaded) but that boost could easily be run on pump gas! and this was the cars 1ST pass!!!!! The funny thing was all week Bob and I had been making jokes that the car was going to run 9's at waist gate boost and it dang near did on it's 1st pass!!!

DSBC set to 10% (so much for me only running WG boost lolol)
Leaned out the High on the ARC-2 2 clicks
Peek boost 16.8psi
Let down tires to 20psi

A/F was in the mid to high 11's on every glance on this pass
Shifting at 8000rpm
tires spun REALY bad, but still got a 1.58 got to love these quick time pros
Still well within what could be run on pump gas on a set-up like this. That’s right I fully beleave I now have a 9 second pump gas car! I'll need to test that out at some point.
The car felt REALY good, like a walk in the park.
Needless to say I was VERY excited, I hot lapped the car right back up to the staging lanes to runn again. Still trying to figure out how to launch the car on these DOT slicks I decided maybe I needed to heat them up. so before I staged I did a big dry hop burn out. (may have been a bad idea)
The car was running to good to keep the boost down, so I cranked the DSBC to 35% thinking this would get me around 20psi.

Lite goes Green
I launch...... POP, BANG!! front tires go totally up in smoke, bang the rev limiter.... ****! I think I broke the T-case..... But no grinding, car seems fine.... hmmm about 1/2 track I decide to punch it (why I have no idea) I'm in 2nd just idling, nail it boost comes on front tires erupt into smoke. WTF... Still no noise...
I drive it down the track and up the return line back to my trailer and start looking under the car no oil.... hmmm ooooo crap rear end look under the back the left rear Axle is GONE, totally missing. Crap it's on the Track, I start running over to the staging lanes to tell them when I see a guy walking towards me holding my Axle... " you loose this" lolol
Boost hit 21.3psi at some point either on the launch or when I punched it in 2nd.
Man I wish it would have made that pass full, I can only imagine how 5 more PSI on this set-up would have made it run!
Guess it's time to replace these 14 yr old well raced Axles... Does anybody make any stronger ones that I don’t know about?
But all and all I am VERY happy, I bet if I ran run a few more passes at WG boost I could have run a 9 second pass on 14psi!
9.7 @16psi is amasing, it took 30psi on the old set-up to run that!

~300lb lighter
DOT slicks
added .7L to the motor
DR-1200's VS DR-1000's (but with still running 720's kind of pointless)
Short runner intake with 90MM TB
Bigger Intercooler
Bigger Intercooler Piping (2.25")
3' o2 housings VS 2.5"
Power steering removed
Still running a ARC-2, DR- stage 3 heads, DR STREET cams, 720's.....
I LOVE IT, I could not be happier despite the Axle braking.... because I Know when the boost goes up this thing is going to be NUTS!!!
