Only because I wasn't there. :-p

Picked up a first down in D.C. this weekend, and a personal WDCR best of 32nd PAX out of 222. Also picked up a season points cushion with the win, so unless I completely bomb out at the next and last event, I've got the season in hand.

Aaron breaking out the 2nd place win!

:D Thanks!

I always love the spread in SM. 7 seconds over 9 cars. Then there's PRO, where Tony and Steve were only 0.061 seconds apart in their GS minis.

It also looks like there's going to be a decent TST turnout for the 10/13 event. Should be a fun time.

I didn't have a good day whatsoever. Oh well that's how things go I guess.

My major problems include -

a.) Need r-compounds, my azenis are the suck and are worn out
b.) My 110k mile VLSD is acting like an open diff
c.) I need to look ahead more and turn in later

It's easy to blame things on the car which is why reasons a/b are the first two things. I should be able to compensate for these problems but everytime I tried to go faster I would almost loose control/or loose control.

Oh well, enough of my negative rant.

Turn in later? Almost everyone has a problem with turning too late (including me), which is why that statement surprises me. You don't appear to be hitting many cones, which means you are probably turning late and not getting close enough to the orange uprights.

The key to most courses, especially at boeing, is to cut distance. In slaloms, this helps you maintain a higher speed. Granted I am on r-comps with a decent suspension, but I was going wot with minimal lift through the the slalom section (the one you go through twice). I was tagging rev limiter, which puts me at 56mph through that section. I could have gone a bit faster if I turned in a hair earlier, too.

I understand what you are saying and yea I hardly ever cone. But everytime I try to turn in earlier on the 180* turns my car understeers like a mad man and then goes sideways on the exit because of traction issues. My car seems to like going into the 180 turns a little later for some reason <- (probably because it gives me more time to brake longer in order to avoid the understeer)

Slaloms I should be turning in much sooner thats for sure.

I might head to the the T&T at Ripken this weekend to figure some stuff out and get seat time. 150 is a little much though...

150 is a friggin rip. for 250 u could be runnin around pocono at 160 mph. F that man, "test and tune" get the hell out of here!

BOTH of our probs are the worn out azenis. im at 2/32 of an inch IF that, im oversteering even when i THINK about the gas pedal. its the tires, they are the second biggest prob i have,

number one is my driving. 7 sec split in SM is all my fault, i keep coming in last and the cars slow and im a bad driver. ms rx8 prefers the backroads....

Well, that all depends on your goals. You pretty much get most of the day to do pretty much as many runs as you want. This is especially helpful for those prepping for nationals and looking to tweak car setup or get additional practice. Also really good for those in generally looking to get more seat time to improve their skills. Of course you could pay the same amount or a little more for a track day, but it won't make you a better autocrosser. ;)

Hey JR, you going to be at SJR this weekend? I should be making an appearance. Going to test out some additional front camber and see what happens.

We'll see, but I doubt it. I have a very busy weekend and I would most likely only be able to come down for the morning. I'm also running low on tires. I really don't feel like getting a new set of tires for one or two events this season. At this point I'm only running what I need to/can.
