mazda 3

My brother currently has a 2004 mazda 3 with a 2007 2.3L motor in it and I was wondering what possibilities there are in performance upgrades for it other than the usual intake and exhaust.

I was thinking about twin turboing it but I am not sure if the rear turbo would fit or even be worth it for the gain so I was thinking about maybe a single turbo. Any Ideas????

fyi the diff between the 07 and 04 L3 engine is like nothing but im glad ur being precise....

a twin turbo inline 4 banger is just a waste, the single turbo kit is the way to go and many comps offer kits especially for the L3. try mazda3club.com and search around bc they are pretty large and they will have all the answers. but i will be the first to tell u to ditch the plastic intake manifold bc that will hinder how much boost u can use. trust me, ive seen that step skipped...it got ugly...


im not too sure on the strength of the internals when it comes to 250+ whp so if u want to go serious id be looking for new internals and lower the compression. good luck with it!
