Guys i need help big time...

Hey everyone, well once again, Acura screwed me over big time. They told me that they were ordering a factory rebuilt tranny for a certain price with a warranty. Turns out they ordered me a tsx 6 speed trans and are telling me that if i want a k20 trans i am going to have to wait for a while because they are on back order. Will the K24 6 speed tranny from the tsx work on the k20 for my type-s? In the end, i really need a k20 trans and fast. i am at school and need a car asap but mine has been sitting for weeks now waiting for the trans to come. If anyone has a tranny or itr tranny or anyone selling one that is not going to take a dump on me anytime soon please let me know. I need help big time from someone. Thanks guys,

im sure the gear ratios must be different. dont settle for what isnt for ur car.....if its undewr warranty why are u talking about price....? wait for the trans designed for the k20, just bc the k24's bolts right up doesnt mean the ratios in the box are the same. the tsx and the rsx-s have got to have diff ratios,. ur car must have tighter gearing or vice versa.

i had the same w once bc an s2k trans is similar to my trans but the ratios, i found out, were worlds apart, the s2k trans has taller gearing.


u gotta wait for the trans from rsx-s. i cant believe a dealer would put a trans from another car into urs unless its IDENTICAL. which theres no way it is bolt for bolt. ask them if the gearing is the same, and since the service writer prolly wont kno what the hell ur talking about...im sure ull be able to look it up online....hell, i will right now for ya....gimme 15 minutes

the tranny was ordered from a dealer but my car has no warranty. They want an extra 1500 for the types tranny so i f i can i want to put the tsx tranny in it.

You gotta make sure that the shifter throws are the same length, the slave cylinders are the same, cables are the same lenght, block bolt pattern is the same, input shaft is the same, clutches are the same.
Any places that will do a performance type rebuild on your current trans?
You car was down at joshes shop right?

yeah thats my car at white knuckle. What do u think, should i do the k24 tranny? I would do it in a heartbeat if i know it will work with no problems.

I think the gear ratios in the TSX trans may make your car a little less fun to drive around town, did you check ebay, theres a type-s trans with a claim of 8k miles for 1200...

keep the rsx gears but use that tsx final drive!

yes all k-series transmissions bolt up to all k-series blocks. the element/crv awd transmissions bolt up as well. charles madrid from skunk2 has an awd k24-powered ef wagon for a daily :)

That Tsx trans is garbage....it will totaly kill any performance you have, or want. the gearing is too long, its 6th gear is the the same as my si's 6th dnt do it IMO:roll:
