Anyone have low cost exhaust work?

Im thinking of having low cost rebuild my old exhaust, ie cut resontators out, weld old muffler back on. I miss being really loud, its just not fun sounding like nothing.

real question is... are they really low cost and is it quality. Im a firm beleiver you get what you pay for but id like to be proven wrong.

Im alsot tired of waiting for someone to trade exhausts with me. I spent 200 for nothing. :finga:

If you are talking about Low cost exhaust over by the oxford vally mall, that place is a rip-off. I went there and they charged me $270 dollars for a muffler and pipe. Then they wanted to sell me a USED pitted "ricer" tip for $50.00 dollars. I walked down to pepboys and saw the same tip there for 19 bucks. They suck.

i do too. i had 2.25inch crush bent put in my escort + flexpipe + muffler (prepurchase) for under $300. The price was only high because they charge a bit more than I like for the flexpipe, which was $100 alone.

To counter that though they called me at 8:30 at night when they were working on it just to tell me my stock flexpipe was rusted to **** and needed replacement. They wouldn't do the work without my permission and then showed me the flexpipe afterwards to verify it was shot.

it's been 2 years and a car that sat on the ground and the exhaust it still solid, nice looking, and throaty. For crush bent piping, it almost looked mandrel.

I'm going back to them for the lx-e.

side note, i see low cost guys beat the piss outta the cars they work on. go park at the pet store on that corner and just wait, you'll see.
