So I walked out to my car today and found the meter-man writing me a ticket. Here was the conversation:
Me: Are you writing me a ticket?
Him: Yea
Me: Well I'm leaving right now, so don't worry about it.
Him: The meter is already expired buddy, so I have to finish writing it.
Me: Well, I'll be gone by the time you are done.
Then I got into my car and drove off before he finished writing the ticket. What are my chances of getting it in the mail??

i bet you will see it...
If you got there before he entered all the crap into his palm pilot then he could have let you go, but once he hit the finished button the ticket is final.

I think he had just started to write it when I walked up. I think I was gone soon enough. I just hope he didn't write down my plate # as I drove away so he could send it to me.
On another note:
I got a parking ticket before, and under 'make of car' it said MOMA. HAHA, he didn't see any exterior badging!! He wrote down MOMO from the steering wheel, and he spelled it wrong!! HAHAHAHA Needless to say, I disputed that one and didn't have to pay.

You'll probably get it in the mail because you pissed him off. Fight it. Regardless of his defense the judge should see that you were mailed a parking ticket and obviously if you were parked there, it would have been on your windshield. I'm anxious to see how it works out as well.

depending on how stock your car looks, you could just say, there's 100's of these driving around, how do you know it was me?? I tried that once

I got a parking ticket in Philly awhile back and never paid. I don't think they take them too seriously... at least I hope not. He probably did get your tag as you drove away... but I can't see him having much of a case mailing since he has to mail a parking ticket to you.

Luckily, my car was home awaiting a new MAF sensor. I was driving my wifes white Toyota Highlander. There's only like a zillion of those things around.

I've gotten hasseled big time for unpaid parking tickets when I got pulled over for speeding. I actually think they can put a boot on your car for unpaid tickets.

Philly is pretty bad with parking tickets, I hated coming home from work everyday and trying to find a spot. The only thing worse was trying to show up mid-day for class and find a spot. PPA (Philadelphia Parking Authority) has a stranglehold on the city and rakes in so much money each year it is ridiculous. Most of the time the tickets they write are bogus but they bank on you not taking the time off to fight the tickets. I have received one or two for parking over two hours when I have simply ran into my apartment for 1/2 hour. They will probably send you a warning for one or two unpaid tickets, any more than that and they will boot it, especially on Drexel's campus. Fight it and keep your money, if you even get it... Knowing them they were too lazy to finish filling it out and didn't mail it. Good luck!

I live in Jersey and I got the ticket in Philly so I'm not worried. They sent me a warning once and nothing since then. They know they're beat since I dont live in that state.

A friend of mine went to Del. Val. College. They put a boot on his truck (but he had 31's). It didn't fit well so he hooked another truck up to the boot and it pulled right off the tire. He walked in, threw the boot on the counter of the police department, and paid for his fines. They wanted to charge him to take the boot off but after some persistance, they let it slide. They were pissed.

Oh, it's guaranteed to show up in 3-4 months after you've completely thought you've gotten away with it and forgotten it.
