Im seriously debating on either just havign my current bumper which is scratched alot and has one dent in it, or buying a new oem bumper and having that painted. Or something that looks nearly oem. But which would be cheaper? I have not had time to have a shop estimate repair but i got around 150 to paint a new bumper and a oem one would cost roughly 150, so around 300 total for new and painted.

Now if i went for aftermarket front bumper would that look weird with the rest of my car being stock kit? I dont want anytthing crazy just something simple.

if it is a car you care about and want to look nice just look into a nice body kit. you can find decent looking ones for $500.00 but if money is a problem just get a new front bumper and take car of it.

Plastic bumpers with dents usually don't get fixed.

I'm an appriaser and the only time I give shops to fix a bumper is when its scratched. If it has a dent they replace them.

a new car would obviously have a replacement bumper, but in his case with his car being 7+ years old already, wouldn't you write time to fix the bumper instead of replacing it even with a used part? depending on the size of the 'dent', it probably wouldn't be more than 1.5 hours body + paint.. it obviously wouldn't get a new OEM bumper, but even aftermarket or used would be a crapload of money.

i mean, i know this isn't an insurance claim or anything, but still.. that's how i've come to think about body work to my own personal car and other people's.. i think about what an insurance company would do.

just my $0.02

try getting the dent out with a heat gun, it may make your decision easier, since the price will be significantly less

Both James LS and I used Certifit to replace our stuff. :)
