You need a combo of a red or yellow top along with a higher amperage alternator.

I would definetly look at a higher amperage alt. What size fuses are you running on the amps?

What cap? A 1-Farad should be plenty for what you are running. If it has been getting worse than your alt. is going out and wont last long.

Check your belt first. Make sure it has right around 1/2 inch play and no more(or factory spec)

Look at the current draw of your amp and base it off of that. 200 sounds overkill for a 30 AMP amplifier

lol this is true. but my stock alt only puts out 90 amps (if im lucky) with out the radio and all on. lol the stock alt on saturns can barely put enought amps out to power the car. lol

Get a bigger battery first. Something with 800cc or so. Lights dimming is gonna be normal, but if your going below 12V (the alt puts out like 14V) then you have an issue that should be resolved.

Upgraded alternators usually dont put out as much voltage as the stock one at idle. Only at higher rpms will they put out what they are rated for. This is SOME upgraded alternators. Watch what you buy.

bump on the HO alt, i had the same problem w/ a CAP and poped in a Ho ALt and never had a problem
Are you maxing out the gain or level on the amp? try turning it down a little on the amp itself and see if that makes a difference. Or get a bigger battery.

btw you have a tiny tiny inline. i have a 110amp fuse in mine. and im running a 600watt RMS rockford, 2 12" JL W3V3's. With a yellow top no caps

beefier everything. if you want big bass you need big things backing it up.

OH YEA.... i have 0 gauge power wire, and 0 gauge ground. Double check your ground as its everything, its the BALANCE of a system. So that could be your first problem bigger ground/better

see thats the thing my power wire and ground are good and im running the right size for the power i have and putting out. and when your going to run 0 gaug wire your going to need that size of a fuse. i guess ill try a yellow/ red top first and see what happens

This might help you out and either way it should be done with a audio system. Go to a car audio shop and get some 0 gauge wire and this under your hood. Leave all you factory wiring there but upgrade the positve wire that runs from the positive terminal on the batter to the one on the alternator, Run from from the battery ground to the chassis, run 1 from the mounting point of the alternator to the chassis. This should help current flow and atleast ease up the hard draw on your charging system. Also make sure to run atleast a 100amp fuse on the wire going from the batt to alternator. Also read this link as well. http://realmofexcursion.com/forum/showthread.php?t=924

Anytime you upgrade the power your supposed to match it with the samee size ground i believe

What farad cap do you have now and how big is your amp??

ok well i now upgraded them amps. i now have a 2 kenwood's one is 640x4 and the othe is 800x2. i also upgraded all the amp wiring and fuses. but now insted of the fuse blowing when bass hits. now after about 10 mins or so the amps just cut of off and thats after haveing the vol up. and then it comes back on after a few mins of being off. so now i am at a loss. i think i might try a cap again. something like a 1.5 or a 2 fared cap. and also going to get a yellow top battery too

that sounds like a problem with the amp. does the overcurrent light come on on the amp (usually red light)?

nope! the amps just shut off both of them. and i tested the amps in another car and the amps are new so i know its not them.
