Anyone have any idea where to find some nice clean looking black mesh to put inside my bumper in front of where my FMIC sits? All the random hardware store crap looks like garbage so I'm wondering if there's anywhere that sells something a little nicer.
Thanks,
Bryan

Troll. Home depot, look for the pretty fine silver meshing, i cant put my finger on what its used for, but paint it black and your golden, and it will save your FMIC from being destroyed but bugs and birds and small children.

damn thats what i was looking for but its $50 plus shipping and i dont even know if it'll cover the area i need it to. i'm gonna measure it and think about it, but hell thats a lot of money for a grill.
i'll also check home depot again but what i've seen there in the past is kinda... industrial looking and would look crappy on a car, even sprayed black. i'll check again though.

You know that grillcraft offers this, and it's precut and designed for your bumper.

yeah i dont want it to be at the front of the opening, i dont like that look... i want it to be sunken in a little... subtle really.
i just want something to tone down the look of the fmic a bit, basically like the Evo front is set up.

Gotcha. Hmm, I dunno then. I like the front opening dude, and it's not like you need to save your i/c core, you can buy a whole other fmic kit for like $300.
I could see if you put your good fmic on or something.

couldn't you just buy one that is made for your car and then just pin it to the back of the bumper and shave off what you don't want/need?

hey troll, go to advance auto or anywhere that sells APC stuff.. yeah i know it's APC, but hear me out lol. they have this 'universal' mesh grille that comes in a big rectangle that will probably be big enough to cover your opening. it's actually pretty good quality and comes in what appears to be a stainless finish. i bought some for a friend's car, scratched the surface up with a scuff pad, and painted it flat black. he's had it on the car now for about 8 months (through the winter even), and it has yet to chip off of even one spot. check it out, i think it'll be worth it.

there's what i'm talking about. it should be a bit less at a store if you can find it. i found the stuff at advace auto parts in boyertown pa. i think it was just under $30. still quite a bit for a grille, but like i said, worth it for it to look not half-assed

search for mesh. They have just about every design you could want and most look better than the cheap expanded stuff. They even have SS, but it will cost you.
