Welcome, and I have to say I like except for the carbon fiber. I don't know why but I never was a fan of it and I think on ANY car it looks like ass, so its not just you, I'm not trying to be mean lol.

Again welcome, and nice photos too btw.

nice Bill how's it run?

Great!

BillFromTR
10-31-2007, 12:26 AM
I need to learn to launch all over again. I'm spinning the tires all the way to redline in first, bouncing off the rev limiter and then bogging real bad in second. Best run was a 2.057 sixty foot. I used to be able to hit 1.7/1.8 when I was stock.
Anyways, I ran 12.5 @ 117mph. This was on the pump map, so another 30hp/40tq and a perfect run should net high 11's acorrding to my calculations.

BillFromTR
11-03-2007, 01:03 AM
slight improvement. I still suck at driving this thing, but im getting better.
12.4 @ 121. Horrible 1.98 sixty foot. That trap speed has 11's written all over it.

Ya, thats a realy realy nice trap speed and shows that the car is moving very well. I have the almost exact same setup (sz49, ssAC fmic, headers..etc, NO meth yet but race fuel map is nice---LOVE the turbo quality and flow), so this is good news cause i have not been to the track yet, if ever. Its silly haw hard these cars are to launch with bigger turbos.
Get it done.

very nice!!! the crappy 60' time is most likely due to clutch slippage....i wouldn't doubt it seeing as you are seeing 400+ whp numbers.

BillFromTR
11-04-2007, 05:06 PM
Doubt the clutch is slipping... I have the Exedy full face, supposed to be good for 475 foot pounds. I chalk it up to driver error. I've been told that I should feather the clutch instead of dropping it.

ahh...i didn't know you did a clutch, yeah...def feather it out instead of dumping it.

You really cleaned her up and lit a fire under her a**! You have a gourgous STi, with mods pushing 400+hp…

"What should be my next mod?" you ask?

Have you looked into a jet engine swap or maybe a sister STi? (JK)

Seriously, outstanding job Bill!

(I have not dynoed mine yet and hate to guess, hopefully I will know on the 17th.)

when i installed my perrin 25mms front and rear i actually felt more understeer.
I'm hoping an alignment will help that. If not, I'm going to be looking for a larger rear bar.

I put down a deposit on a EWG kit. There having a group buy now so I figured I'd better jump on it now while I could save a few bucks.

P&L's EWG setup starts off life as a high quality TurboXS up-pipe that has been setup and modified to run a high quality Tial 44MM v-band wastegate. The TurboXS down-pipe (arguably the most difficult to fit an EWG on) was used to finalize the production jig so there would be no fitment issues at all.

We listened to our customers who wanted a high quality unit compatible with the TurboXS downpipe (one of the more widely used units here in the midwest). We selected the TurboXS up-pipe as well due to its extreme high quality, quality control, and availability. Why re-invent the wheel if it's not necessary?

Included:

* Tial 44MM wastegate
* Modified TurboXS up-pipe
* 1 BAR spring
* V-band clamps
* Dump tube
