one of the most respected names in rotay tuning now makes a supercharger kit for the renesis...adding about 80 whp at 8psi......not too bad.

I think it might be more of a Roots style.

mazda used it in the millenia S for years.

A centrifical (spelling?) style would be better for a high revving motor like a rotary. Never saw a SC for a rotary, pretty nice.

That car looked slow. It took almost 7 seconds to get to 60mph. Maybe he just wasnt really getting on it. It didnt look like he revved it out all the way.

yeah im not 100% sure he was fully on it bc they SCREAM when at 9k and that one wasnt....id say 70% throttle.....they take 6 secs to ge tto 60 stock im sure one with 80 more whp would do better than that! haha!

sc for rotaries r rare bc of their um, normally not very open to havin another belt and another pulley to drag down the engine. a 5.0l v8 doesnt notice a pulley and a belt the way a 1.3l does, so in the past they didnt use em too often.

ive seen two rx8s with stage II SC's at rotorfest a few weeks ago, one was a 4 port and the other was the beastly 6 port and that 6 port one was nuts.

there are slowly becomming more FI kits for the rx8 so when this one became official it was so unique i had to show everyone........didnt wanna whore it up in the general car related section, so thought itd be best here in the mazda one.......next up to showcase is some turbo kits.....turbos give very good gains on high revvin rotaries so lets see what hp's they produce.........

jerry i think they shoot for about 4-5k w/o EMS, even tho thats a bit of a bummer, the stage III they are finalizing is barely more than that, will be with a pre tuned EMS and is gonna be some more power across the rev band....

yeah im shy when it comes to SC terms, all i kno for sure is that its the same style as the millenia S. when u lift off the insanely complex intake manifold off a millenia S it reveals the SC and its like, two swirly rods almost touchin each other and they spin into each other and its belt driven and it whines like a mother f-er.....i kno its called lysholm i just dont kno how to spell it. even more of a headache was the fact that it wasnt an otto cycle engine it was a miller cycle....but thats a whole nother thread to begin with!!!!!!

I don't know about this SC kit. $5,000 is alot of money to only make 260 whp and it doesn't even come with somekind of fuel or timing control. They didn't even bother to take a vid with the CEL light off.

I'll have to read more into it, but for now I think turbo is the way to go with Rotaries.

that links exactly where i got the vid....yeah its a lot, thats what i was lightly tryin to say, same with me not in love with SC rotaries....turbos respond best and i like emt hat way, but i just thought itd be an interesting read to show a sc rx8 bc its rare indeed!

did u see the 3 rotors run in rolex today? tremblay was in 3rd until like the last 3 mins and he lost TWO places and settled with 5th bc his tires took a crap....i was sad....
