Since being introduced to the Poorboys line up by Chris at Glimmer Glass... ive been nothing but happy with every product ive used... they all do what they say they will do and some do a bit more... this happens to be one that does exactly what i expected/hoped it would do... so onto the experiment

this is approximately a weeks worth (300+miles) of brake dust build up.. the wheels have 3 coats of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on them... 2 were done at the "big" detail i did and one was done recently to refresh/reinforce...

as you can see the wheels are absolutely filthy... OEM brembo pads are notorious for dusting a ridiculous amount...anyway... today i did my weekly wash before our tuesday night meets... i use my pressure washer to do my pre-rinse becuase it helps get the bugs and crap off the front end... along with the bug squash... heres a shot after i hit half the wheel with the PW..

as you can see the dust is almost completely gone... it just pretty much rolled right off the wheel... i took a short.. non-audio .. video clip so that people could see how i got the results.... id say this got 99% of the dust off the wheel... i just followed like i normally do with a damp rag to get the extremely stubborn parts...

this product gets a 5 out of 5 in my book!

geese thats pretty sick.. Ive done some of them sti breaks and the dust on them sticks pretty good. Just a pressure wash wouldnt nearly do that i dont think.

also what kinda pressure washer do you use? How much psi?

before applying this stuff, the wheels would never come this clean... they used to look like this

http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r188/chaos311clarity/P6260375.jpg

and that is AFTER hitting it with the pressure washer... i was forced to clean them with SSR3 to get all the gunk off but after i did that i coated them with this stuff and BAM it works great...

the PW im using is a 3000PSI honda unit... however i use the lightest nozzle so i do not damage the paint or anything on the wheels... ive gotten good results with this stuff and just a hose/nozzle but i find that a PW will make it alot faster.

hmm yea i think we only use a 1200psi unit. Just an electric unit safe for everything including the floormats.

How often do you have to apply this? And what exactly is it? Spray, gel, or compound that needs to be rubbed on? Reasons im asking could be like a little add on to our cars as an option like rainX so it makes it easier for clients that wash/ take car to car washes to keep rims cleaner.

i use the high pressure unit because we bought it to do stuff around the house as well as for me to use on my cars/clients cars...

i apply it every time i wax the car... which is maybe about once a month or so... sometimes more if i feel up to it ... cause i dont think more can hurt haha... it gets applied like a wax.... i use a foam applicator, apply it to the wheel.. let it haze then buff off...

for anyone looking to buy this stuff... check it out here... this jar is enough to do many cars or do one car over and over again!

yea i just realised i could go to their site. Ill tell my boss about it and possibly think about picking it up. How long does it take usually to apply to say your wheels? I know some wheels would be easier then others but just trying to be as imformed as i can so my boss has no questions about it.

it really depends on the complexity of the wheel design..ive put it on 3 different styles of wheels so far and ive been getting faster each time... id say a few minutes a wheel to apply... some time to let it haze then adequate time to buff it off... depending on the complexity of the wheel it could take from 20 minutes up to an hour, there are all kinds of variables tho

haha, no its ok to help them maintain the car haha... the p21s is really awesome stuff... i used it yesterday on my buddys grand am gt's engine bay... hadnt been cleaned since it was brand new... and it went from FILTHY to looking like it had 10k miles on it... some of the crap wouldnt come off without a smaller brush for tight spaces... but yea its fantastic... remember to cut it for normal use... 3:1 or 4:1 works well for most people... and i actually just ordered some more waffle towels too!

I'm currently using wheel wax on my wheels with good results id like to try this stuff on one side of my car and see how it compares. I have had good results with poorboys products in the past.

I've never used an actual wheel sealant before but I have found that many car waxes can be used on wheels and are just awesome (klasse aio and optimum poli-seal work great). I'll probably try out jeffs werkstatt acrylic jett sometime soon to see how that holds up.
No need to use cleaners after that, just some water and a light brush.
