Anyone done a window regulator in their Audi / VW? Sounds like a common problem... the tech I talked to said it was cake and I could do it so I went for it. It wasn't cake, but I am mostly done now... only problem is that the window doesn't go ALL the way down. When it stops there still about 1/4" of glass sticking up out of the door. I'm about to go pull it all apart again to see if I cant adjust something or other but figured I'd ask if there was anyone familiar with this on here.

Hey bryan i told you my advice was just cut the top part of the window off. NO seriously this will bother him forever so hopefully someone can help.

I spoke to a VW tech and he said that a lot of times after the regulator is replaced it just doesnt sit exactly the same. I don't know if thats true or not but I really dont like that answer much so if anyone has any experience with adjusting these, shout me a holler.

The window is not supposed to drop down all the way in your car. The old, broken regulator allowed the window to do so. The new regulator is working just fine.

yeah i took it apart again yesterday and looked at it all and there's really no wiggle room... the window goes up and down fine, goes all the way up which is the important part and goes almost all the way down, so i'm leaving it.
i also fixed a rattle inside one of the other doors so that helped me to feel slightly more accomplished and forget about the glass thing.
