my buddy just bought an 05 s2k. we were trying to figure out if the car comes with traction control, and if so, how do you disable it?

whats to figure out? rev it to 6k and dump the clutch. if it doesnt spin, then you have traction control.

Oh also don't listen to this guy, you do what he tells you and more than likely you're going to break the rear diff.

can someone else confim this?

i was very disappointed in the cars acceleration. we were wondering if the car had some type of traction control or something holding it back. at the end of the drive we came to the conclusion that we are just used to owning turbo cars.

on a positive note, i really like how firm and stable the car feels in corners.

ouch ... hard to believe the car is really that slow. i always thought they had more power in them then that.

they have potential. but its a high rpm car. they are dead at low rpm. i personally think the v6 accord is faster.

Most dyno at around 190-200whp stock, so they aren't really power hogs.

yeah you are right about that. down low there is almost nothing there.

but over all i still think its a cool car, and they do have a good aftermarket support.

I can confirm it, afterall I am an s2k owner lol. The car doesn't accelerate as well as a turbo car or something with a bigger engine because it is lacking torque. Like they say Torque gets you going, hp keeps you going. The hp is good enough on this car though, i can gaurantee not many owners can drive the car to its full potential

i was hoping as s2k owner would come chime in . your right about having to know how to drive it. you pretty much have to get used to keeping the rpms very high to get the car to move, and always downshift if you run into some competition.

its the lack or torque that cant spin the rear wheels...thus making it seem like it has traction control haha jk

the car not being able to break the tires loose isn't from traction control, it's just the lack of torque :]

i drive a turbo car, so im used to something with more torque when you give it some gas.

i took it up to the vtec power band. it was a total let down. the car felt a little better, but it was still slow.

The S2000 isn't going to feel fast driven by someone new to the car but when driven by the hands of an experienced driver it is a force to be reckoned with one of the best gearboxes in the world and handling that is second to none.

I bet these Ferrari owners were let down too

the s2k is not a drag car, put it on a winding mountain road and keep the revs over 7500

lol, thats not a stock s2k.

It's not that modified either. Not fi and bolt ons for the s2k don't yield that much power.
