i just got a 2nd driveway added that goes next to my house, its going to be used for working on cars. has anyone used an epxoy floor coating outside, i was about to buy the kit at home depot, and the person there said that it would be very slick in the rain and could be dangerous. anyone have experience with that?

If it's the same **** that I had at school and in a few other shops, then yes. I pulled in cars during the rain/snow, got out and slid across the god damn shop. Almost broke my ass a few times.

Makes a GREAT surface to clean though. Nice surface to push a car on and off of, and makes tires spin really well.

thats what i was afraid of, i was thinking i could just throw a little sand down while the epoxy is still wet to give it some traction, but it should still be really easy to clean.

Might work. I would have said when it was tacky to just groove it out a bit, but then you'd have oil channels, so...it's your choice.

The color flakes pretty much do this already as they are spread on top of a curing floor. I wouldn't put it outside though IIWY. If you are worried about looks, why not do a stamped concrete? That stuff always looks great and there are tons of patterns and dyes to choose from.

I have the epoxy in my garage, but I think it would not hold up well to the sun and start to yellow. The stuff is very slick if you get oil or coolant on it.

the concrete is already poured
i don't want it to get all oil stained and crap, i want it to look good for a long time.
i know it'll be slick with oil, but that will get cleaned up right away, i'm only worried about keeping it decent while it is raining out
