Looking at picking up an A4, but I'd like to have a Audi tech look it over before I pull the trigger just to be safe and catch anything that might be wrong with it. Ideally looking for someone who works at a dealership and has all the tools and resources, but is able to do it on their own time so I can pay them directly and not pay out the ass through the dealer.
Also really looking to do this either thursday (tomorrow) or friday if possible! The car is in Philly, but a shop anywhere between there and Newtown works.
Gracias,
Bryan

Best bet is to take it to the dealer, have them do a complete car checkover. Shouldn't cost more than $30, if so, take to another shop and have them look it over. How many miles on it?
Common problems are all the belts and make sure the turbo is good. Make sure its had the 60,000 mile tune up if that applies to the mileage. Good luck and it should make a great DD!

You can't get wiper blades for $30 at the dealership.
They'll charge you $90 just to VAG it and check any fault codes.
Minimum of $200 and it won't be done by Thursday
Best of luck Bryan.

i'll shoot you a pm... i might have something set up but a backup plan never hurts.
its a black 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro with 89k miles. timing belt has not been done so thats something i know is coming up and its not cheap. its got a couple things that need fixing but overall is in very nice condition and the price is great. its not 'fun' but it seems like it'll make a nice 'beater' to daily drive.

make sure whoever looks at it checks the suspension. a friend of mine bought his with the same mileage and spent over 5k on a new electrical system and suspension

too expensive for maintence for a `daily` driver `beater` imo

lets just say that if i spent 5k on it after the purchase price, then i would have paid kbb in total.
i do expect to spend 1500 or so on a few issues and the timing belt which is about due, and it is more than i was planning to spend in total on the car, but its still a great value.
hopefully a lot of other issues wont arise, which is why i'm trying to have someone thoroughly inspect it now.

ah yes, i had a vw tech look it over for me yesterday and it checked out pretty well so hey... i'm an audi guy now. got a few little projects on the car to get some things fixed up but its pretty damn solid.
thanks for the help though tst... i'm sure i'll be in need of some audi assistance in the future.

haha... yeah i am planning on getting a gt30r actually.... for my subaru!
the audi is going to have 150 crank horsepower for its entire miserable life. no promises that i wont get some simple 17" wheels and lower it though... i think that'll really help the cause cause right now i've got monster truck wheel gap and ballin on 15s.
get rs4 wheels they're sick on A4's.
