Hey guys my neighbor has put the supercharger in his tiburon. It the one that most people get i think. It is like an 03, v6 im pretty sure. But anyway he just put new injectors in the other day and it is not running right today. I mentioned something about tuning the car but he doesnt really know. The car is now spitting some black soot out once and a while. He also says in a little higher rpm's it is sputtering a bit. He has no tuning for this at all. Can you guys help us out on this problem and tell us what might be wrong. thanks

If his bigger injectors weren't part of his kit then the ecu isn't tuned for them and it probably getting overfueled.

sounds like it should be tuned. Most kits have a warning of driving untuned after install.. maybe he should pay attention to that. Talk to drew, he has a s/c'ed tiburon.

first, if definitly needs to be tuned

to my knowledge there is NO s/c kit that comes with injectors but no sort of piggyback ( that would be really stupid ) tell him to pick up an safc-2 or an NGM mafterburner if he can get his hands on one. they're just like putting a bandaid on a broken leg though, you really want to go with a standalone if possible.

find out what kit he has ( ngm sniper, ngm assassin, alpine stage 0,1,2 )

if it's a sniper or stage 0 i'd take the injectors out until he gets a fuel tuner, he's surely running rich. i'm running a sniper at 5lbs on stock pump, injectors, fpr, and i'm STILL running rich ( 10.0 afr at peak boost )

also, black soot? on the bumper above/around the exhaust? that's a big sign that he's runing rich. tell him to stop driving the car before he floods it, take those injectors out and order a fuel tuner

if it's NGM it will look like this

if it looks like that but has 2 hoses coming from the manifold going to a resivoir for the heat exchanger than it's an assassin and unless he bought it used it should have come with a mafterburner
