which wheels? (second set)

alright well im looking for a cheap second set of wheels, they will probably end up being my winter wheels...or DD wheels...

now the debate at hand is this, ive found a set of BBS's for $600 with a little curb rash and worn tires (http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86252)... but id have to drive to VA to get them... OR i found a set of Enkei RZ-5's at the dealer where i bought my car(the wheels actually were on my car before i bought it) for $475 with ****ty wanli tires... and they are effing heavy... so what do you guys think?

I saw those Enkeis, in fact Phil tried to sell them to me when I got my car. Not the right wheels for an STI, I don't think. Do you NEED an extra set of wheels, or just want to do something different? I'm powdercoating mine, just wondering.

I'm going to use Bonehead - I talked to a guy in Spring City yesterday that quoted me a 2-3 week turnaround (duh, it's my daily driver, and can't sit on jaclstands for 2-3 weeks), and a price somewhere between $50-125 per wheel. Nice range, butthead, somewhere between $200 and $500.

You could powdercoat the BBS wheels with the minor rash and use them as your summer wheels, using your silver ones for winter...

I didn't ask about turnaround, I should have - their site quotes $65 each, including prep, for normal colors on 17" wheels.

turnaround from bonehead is gonna be about the same 2-3 weeks...mine took 2 and they busted theyre ass' to have them done for me in 2 weeks....but the finished product is worth the wait

You can pay an extra 20% for rush jobs. They did my stuff in two days.

Van Industries in Birdsboro did the ones for my 92x in two days. I don't have another set of wheels to run around on while my wheels sit someplace for 2-3 weeks.

I was just trying to use a TST vendor, but 2-3 weeks is ridiculous for a process that takes a couple of hours for prep, and an hour for application.

depends what ypu mean by prep...bc the kind of prep you really should do on a set of oem wheels cant be done in a few hours

Subydude.com sells Rotas cheap and has Ebay specials all the time. That's where I got my D2s.

BBS are very good wheels. Rotas FTW, 17x8 and some 245's!
