This is very impressive for the VQ...congrats Nissan...no one every posts in the Nissan forum so I figured it needed a little love.

287:lol: Damn, why not 2004! And I spy 2 intakes? I haven't read up on the engine since I sold mine. It sounds like a beast of a car for the price!

not bad numbers cams in a 3.5L should do that tho. At least my cars best was close to that (240@6500whp 228@forget tq). But then again this car isnt tuned at all.

edit: well not on the hp side. But i dont have vtc

Well it's the same VQ motor but different displacement and slightly different internals. It will start off in the Infiniti G37 and probably be in every Nissan car by next year that offers a V6 engine.

isnt there talk of a turbo charged version of this engine to be put in the skyline?

That's what all the mags say but no official word from Nissan.

i dont even like nissan and im the one with facts? the 3.7 is a twin throttle bodied car, yes two intakes. the VQ going into the GT-R will be bumped to 3.8 and twin turbod for "around" 450 hp. this 3.7 will be going into pretty much eevrything, which isnt a bad thing, it also has nissans version of variable valve timing, which id love to talk about but, i dont care about valves...

all in all, good engine, just sad to see the "need" for displacement to continually go up most cars to get power out of them. 287 hp from the 3.5 wasnt record shattering, but whatever.....most stock engines suck on purpose

dj kuz is gettina g37, we will all get a demonstration by him......right steve?!

I thought the 3.5 in the Z was up to 308hp in 2007, 287 is nice for a NA 6cyl

308 but not to the wheels.

Hey frank I think the only reason for the Displacement bump is to stay on top. I mean the 300 mark is like a catback away! Haha dont hate cause its !faster

Hmmm performace issue spotted ribbed plastic intake plumbing...solution...metal intake plumbing. And the engine bay is soo congested...it could use the space for further heat dispersion. Sexy car tho.
