I always just heated up the bend, put a piece of wood on it, and then smacked the wood with a sledge.

Worked for me, but I am a little ghetto with my fixes sometimes

This will work, I don't think you lost the bead or it would be flat. I had this happen but had bubbles in my tires too (hit a pothole at 80mph in a turn) Watch turning at speed untill you get it fixed. Good luck and damn them potholes?

What did you use to heat the wheel? Also, how will it be rounded if I hit it with wood and a sledge?

The front looks to be losing air...the left side (not bent) is 40psi, and the right is down to 29...this sucks. I wana fix this cheap, but I dont want it to be a bad quality fix cause its an important part of the car...also any ideas to waht the whistle is? I might not even bother fixing the rear if its not leaking air cause its not that bad.

try a benzomatic propane, it is what I would use. It isn't as bad as it looks your tires are still good.

dont heat it up and try to bend it your self it will weaken the rim horribly. If you have the extra cash take it to wheel repair off of pioneer road near the La fitness and Super fresh off of county line road. they do aluminum heli-arc welding and machine balance them. its definitley worth. let me know if you need more details.

take the wheel off the car, put a little palmolive soap on the bend, lay a washcloth over the bend and give a couple hard smacks with a rubber mallet. the soap will protect the finish while your wacking.....works like a charm

To get a rim professionally fixed, will cost you about the same as buying a new wheel.

I was quoted 75 a bend before for some old 17s...there is only one bend here so it shouldnt be bad

Make penndot pay for it. It will take a month or so but they will pay since it is their crappy ass road that hurt your wheel.

I wouldn't reccommend repairing them yourself, they may crack. get a new set of rims, or a couple replacements

Man.. them 40 series wanli tires are rim benders, my last set of 17s. (5 ZIGEN FNO1RC1100$) only made it 2 weeks before the rim was shaped like a oval. I would not get them fixed and use the same tires, it will happen again get 45s

True, the tires sidewall strength has alot to do with this. Buy a better/wider tire if you do.

I have hit holes worse than that with my falkens and my rims aren't bent at all. Spend some extra money on tires with a stiff sidewall. FK452s are a great bang for the buck and they have yet to fail me once.

I have hit a pothole hard enough that I thought "I'm ****ed" only to get out of the car and see that they are absolutely fine. Never intentionally of course and this one time it was at like midnight on a remote stretch of road somewhere out toward lebanon.

Look closely at those tires, i wouldn't rust them, the side and tops layers could be really f-ed. I've seen them in a shop where the top looked fine, but the car tracked like ****, and the inside was bubbled and fubar'd.

Tires are coming off anyway for something a bit stickier, but thanks for the headsup i will definately check

be like all your other brother and sister civics, have a set of rims in the back, and steelies up front and claim you were at the track, or better yet put some nice spinners over the steels.

Honestly, just hammer it out. I have done it to tons of wheels on customers cars at my work and we have never had one come back!

Lay a cloth over the rim, hammer away, and then fill it with air and place it under water to check for leaks!
