Hey guys.. I am just wondering what size silicone coupler is recommended for use on a 14b Inlet. I am a bit thrown off because I guess in stock form Mitsu adds a extra coupler there for cushion, then the intake slides over top. Is this necessary? Will a 2.25" coupler work?

just measure the inlet. and measure the intake ex. if you have a 3'' intake and a 2.5 in. inlet then you need a 3" -> 2.5'' intake coupler

Okay, so I don't need to use this black OEM thingy?

So, without that black thingy, it would be about 2.25" right? Stock 14b...

Looks like 2.5" to me with the rubber surrounding.

Ok, lol, what the heck is the black rubber thing? I am thinking Mitsu puts it there to reduce strain on the aluminum Inlet, if that's the case then I guess I should keep it on there and use a 2.5" coupler.... if it's not necessary then 2.25 would work.... soooo the question is... is the black surround really necessary?

It is not necessary. 2" coupler should be fine.

Cool, thanks for the info! I just wasn't sure if that black thing was there for a good reason.... thanks PaleDSM
