What do you guys think..it was a rolling shot, but we werent going fast enough, so it doesnt really look like its a rolling shot.

Here is one more thing i did. I realize i cut the mantis's leg off lol sorry. The mantis was taken with my old full auto point and shoot

Also, my girl decided to take a pic of me in the clothes I wore out...some may call it borderline gay, but I like the way it looks, and so does she. My parents tihnk otherwise..anyway, she took this..cant use a camera for her life, didnt wana touch my big one (camera), and was lovely enough to capture the door. Here goes

Colors are moderately oversaturated.

the edit looks a lot better. spock is right with the oversaturation but its nothing bad. as for trying to get the car blurred, it depends on your camera. if you have a manual mode you wanna bump the f/stop up and lower the shutter speed. it looks like your shutter speed was 1/280th and 4.4 for ur f/stop. you wanna try it more like 1/50-1/80th and your aperature at like 14+ depending on lighting conditions.

I can't say this anymore. Don't worry as much about color. Worry about focus and composure. The focus is fine here but work on the composure. A car in the middle of the street is boring.

I like the drop, but its a bit low. i want 2 finger gap all around just a nice and clean drop..chop looks clean tho but its not what im going for at the moment..maybe time will change it

blah blah, it was suppose to be a rolling shot. ya know where everything is blurred except the car lol. composition is for stationary pics.

im kinda stubborn tho..i dont like instruction manuals because they confuse the hell out of me, guess i gota play with it a bit..this was done at like 15mph tho so it wasnt really moving fast enough to blurr

Ok yeah so composition doesn't matter if its a panning shot that makes alot of sense. NOT.

composition is the back bone of all most all visual arts, and one of the most important things in photography.

If the goal was for a blurred background and a clean car then why not play with PSing the blur?

As i was saying... that picture compositionally is still boring even tho it has a blurred backround.

^^^I don't think you can ever accurately replicate a panning/rolling shot using the blur tool in photoshop but maybe thats just me.

To me it looks like the composition is lacking a little and you just need to play around with your settings in order to achieve the result you were going for. ie. larger aperture

In some cases a blurred backround will help others it will not improve the comp. of the picture.

the only thing that will ever make this picture better is re-taking it with better composition. I fully agree...

and...No blurring the background does not always give the impression of a moving/panning shot. That was just what I thought his goal was. So I was showing him how to achieve the goal with what he had. Obviously we all know taking the picture with a slower shutter speed/or faster moving subject is the best way to achieve the goal. But when you can't re-take the pic what do you do? You edit it.
(also mine was a very rough quick edit)

Agreed in the wise words of my 9th grade photography teacher, always start with a good negative,

This was taken from a vehicle moving at 15mph of my car moving at 15mph...naturally it wont be blurred so much...i was going for the look dimitri had to his pic

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/motioneffects/WRX11.jpg

Something along those lines, but I didnt have the running room to get the car to go that fast, 2 not right knowledge, 3 not a good background. For what its worth, its a decent shot that could have been improved if I had more time and proper conditions and knowledge..il work on it kids.

If you have a slow enough shutter speed you can make any car blurred even at very slow speed.

i really dont think you should post threads asking for answers if you dont even take the time to read the manuals for the gear you're using.
photography is a technical art, and if you're too 'stubborn' to take the time to educate yourself with the basics, then i guess you should look for a new hobby.
