i got a sr20,redtop,s15 turbo. and couple other little bolt ons. ive never had a problem boostin at 18psi everynow and then at WOT. now just recently ive turned it on 18psi for the weekend and ive noticed pingin at WOT. i turned it back down to 7psi and i have no problem . i couldnt check other boost levels due to my manual boost controller beeing screwed up, but yeh the pingin started little then the pingin started gettin worse so i put it back to 7psi and took off the boost controller since i just bought a new 1.
well any way. does any of u guys know about this problem or know how i can fix it or whats wrong with my car?

Are you running the correct octane?

sounds like detonation.. do you have air intake temps or your injector map %'s ?

Check your plugs and/or maybe you got bad gas.

You are in the process of ruining your engine.
There is nothing wrong with your car. You are way beyond the limitations of the stock 370cc injectors. If you continue to do this, you will be looking for another longblock.
It really blows my mind that you are still doing this.

well i just decided for it to be ok for 1 night only to hit up some high boost. but the pingin got me bothered and yesterday i tryed it again when i got some diffrent gas but i stayed with 93 octane just diffrent station. i got on it pinged a little and when i let off i saw a puff of smoke come out under my hood and that was due to oil shooting out of my BOV. so i pluged the vacume line back in and i ran it back at 7psi and everything was fine... now why would there be oil shooting out of the BOV?
i guess its time for me ethier to sell the car and by a geo or just build my self a carburated chevy like my good ol times when gas was cheap and never have a problem with turbo imports

It's not "OK" for just one night. A lean mixture doesn't care what night of the week it is. You don't have to sell the car. You need bigger injectors and something to control them. Your running out of fuel, leaning out, knocking, and slowly killing your engine. Do you not understand that you have to have the correct amount of fuel to go along with the amount of air?

"WOW"..Keep the boost down a little you are leaning the motor out and it will blow.

no i understand. its just it never ever did this before .just started. i thought it was the crappy fuel. but why the oil squirting out the BOV when i hit that high boost?

it only shot it out that 1 time when i let off the throttle. it dont do it no more since i got it back at 7psi. must be only a high boost .man this thing feels like a civic at 7psi lol

Just grip up an Apexi SAFC and some 550's Maybe a wideband 02 as well so you know when your running lean

That's not going to solve anything. They are still 370cc injectors. Like I explained before, here is what you need:

If you want to be cheap get injectors and a SAFCII... i just don't see the reasoning to waste your time switching in long block after long block because you thought you would be okay .

i have safc2. i dont like it, im sellin it so i can get power fc, its wayyyyyyy better then safc2. i have the z32 maf already. all i need now is injectors and power fc

Thats pretty cheap for Power FC. You gotta spend money to do things right.

if you want 18 psi get a bigger turbo. yours cant handle it you'll blow it up if you keep running 18.

If your not sure how much the injectors flow or there impedence you can have Keith @ KGparts flow them to make sure what the CC's are. I would definetly get them flowed and cleaned before you go and throw them on the car.
You can use a meter to tell if they are high or low.
I've had a set of Low imedence 720's from Venom that I bought from that TLFracing guy on Ebay and they flowed exactly what they where supposed to.

So far i've heard so many horror stories about venom injectors it makes me sick. So many have gone bad with the supra guys that they are banned from even being sold on the supra forums.

i guess il sel the injectors on ebay or somethin, im gonna open my valve cover 2moro and see if the rockers need adjustments ,mean while il inspect everything inside. im thinkin i might have a bent rocker or somethin, o well i have a spare head i guess il just order a cometic headgasket while im there.
i also just picked up a t3\t4 turbo, its .43 intake side and .48 exhuast side . shoot me some suggestions on this turbo, i wanna c what u guys think of it. if its to small or if its gonna be the same as my s15 turbo.

oh my god please stop throwing parts at that poor car simply b/c you refuse to listen to everyone's advice
i hate to be the bearer of bad news but you gotta pay to play. if you want to run more boost you have to cough up the money for a set of injectors and some form of controlling them, along with a good tune from a respectable shop. you then need to not touch any settings on the car, it seems that is what is getting you into trouble in the first place

I highly doubt you have a bent rocker. Again, the reason your pinging is because your running out of fuel. There is no need to install a different headgasket. You don't have a large enough turbo, or enough fuel, to make enough power to even warrant upgrading your headgasket. The turbocharger you bought won't fit your T25 flanged manifold. If you decide to use that turbo, your going to need to change your manifold, and fab up a custom downpipe. Why won't you just listen to what everyone and myself are telling you? Do you like doing things half-assed and blowing up engines? Maybe you really aren't comprehending anything that people are saying. I'm done trying to help. I give your current longblock no more than a month. :screwy:

i know the t3\t4 wont fit the manifold i got now. i already know what i need and need to do to put the t3\t4 turbo on. all i was askin was how much better would the t3\t4 turbo would be then the 1 i have now. nothing else. i was gonna come up to u and let u check out the motor ,or drive it what ever u have to do and i was gonna let u fix it if there was a problem and i have no problem payin. but o well i guess il just go some to some 1 else.

All you need is a Power FC, some quality injectors, a tune and you can do 300whp/300tq on the S15 turbo. Until you do that, keep the boost down or you'll blow your engine.

jspek. i think i got u beat on that 1. my first motor i broke 3 rods and the blew 2 " round diamiter holes on each side of the block and 2 melted pistons. wish i still had that block id show ya pictures
