I just got new wheels and i'm getting different answers from different people on what tire sizes to get. The car is rarely tracked so i don't need anything fancy, its a daily driver. These tires would be for summer driving only. I dont want the tires to be stretched, dont want the edge of the rim to stick out and be vulnerable to curb rash. They need to be very low profile. Any help would be appreciated.

Wheels sizes:
Front- 19x8.5"
Rear- 19x9.5"

first u need to ask urself how much u wanna spend....and also, whats ur stock wheel/tire sizes so we can kno what profile to tell u so u have the same overall diameter as stock still.....

looking to spend preferably right around $1000. Less would rule if the tires are decent.

my stock wheels are:

17" Front- 225/50
17" Rear- 235/50

so far from what i've heard, these could probably be the right ones:

front- 245/35/19
rear- 275/35/19

Let me know what you think.

let me first say that i want u to consider the consequences when moving to a UHP summer tire. they r loud, wear fast, expensive and run crappy when cold. if u can deal with that, then lets continue on to my favorite mod u can do to a car......summer tires!

245/35 will do good for the fronts, to help alleviate the insane underdsteer u WILL have u can go to 255/35. but given the fact that u want 19s i doubt understeer is what u worry about at night.... i kno the 255 will fit on a 8.5 wide wheel bc thats my width too. but u wont fit any wider than that on a 8.5

that size for the rear is good too. just make sure that sucker fits in there, 275 is pretty wide man!

i have 22k miles on my car and currently have about 40% of life left on my third set of tires for this car....its been a blast experimenting with what gives grip.....
i currently run falken azenis rt 615s at 255/40 18 on all four corners on 18x8.5. and i think its a great tire but my last tires on my car was potenza re040 and then dunlop sp sport 8090 so thats like goin from a hyundai to a ferrari

some good max performance tires, try my falkens or....

michelin pilot sport cup
bridgestone potenza RE-01
yokohama advan a048

maybe even
toyo proxes R1
nitto NT01 (if u never see the wet)
BFG g force ta KD (or KDW if u DO see wet)

some ppl on these boards like the new dunlops direzzas dz 101......i am not one of them, but to each his own....

good luck with whatev u work with, enjoy the new rubber!!!!!
