ive always loved the srt-4, and wanted one ever since they came out, but the evo is just something totally different, and in a good sense. looks, handling, just so many things about it that make it an amazing car. However, when compared to the price of an srt-4 i dont know how that balances out. arent evos about 2 times more expensive?

1 got my srt4 for 19k i could find a used evo for like 21k so the payments wouldnt be that much different.. but ya idk i guess its just something ill have to think about for awhile

I had a chance to drive an Evo about a month before I bought my WRX. I love the cars, and do want one, but for the price of insurance and payments it was cheaper for me to buy the wrx and mod it. Like moding the Neon it's not the same by a long shot but not a bad concelation lol.

evo's are very fun cars buy i found in most cases it would cost more to insure an evo then a 08 vet. think about it!

eat that stock evo on handling huh? On a skid pad... yeah, I could see that. It wont have the turn in, steering response, the same characteristics, etc...

There is no way to get a SRT to oversteer while on the gas.

In every case I have ever heard of the vette is cheaper on insurance. Even the Z06.

cxrock16

im paying 260 for the srt4 im 20 with no accidents or anything so i cant imagine it being all that much more if your 25 and only paying 150

I'm 21, a male, in NNJ, 2 points for speeding, 4 points for careless driving, 3 accidents one of which was not my fault.

$18k is still the most insane thing I've heard in weeks. I can't see you getting a much better deal on the M3 when they want that for the evo.

Haha, what? :bigeek:

Is it even legal to charge you that much?

ummm no, that was not a typo. They wanted Eighteen Thousand Dollars in United States Currency.

lol, and you're still with this insurance agency? I mean, do you get round the clock escort services with that 18K? How about caviar every month, delivered right to your home or work in a neat little Mitsubishi Evo cooler?

I'm confounded, stupefied, and utterly speechless to hear 18,000$. Either your a 16 year old who can't drive and have wrecked 4-5 cars, a man who walked in and just screamed "rape me", or Christ, I really don't know. 18000$ is ****ing ridiculous dude. I would have asked for some reasons..

im paying 70 bucks a month for full coverage on the evo with a 500 deductible. im 28 years old. but there is no comparrison between the evo and srt even with suspension mods on the srt is not the same. i owned an srt-4 before my evo and sti. once i drove both cars i fell in love and the srt had to go.

If you want to fall in love all over again, check out this months Modified Magazine’s coverage of the Time Attack event. AMSs’ Evo comes within spitting distance of a Time Attack prepped GT3. Front Wheel Drive can’t get you that far.

And for the money, the Evo (or STi) can get you similar performance numbers against cars costing 3 times as much or more. It’s the best bang for buck out there in that respect.

I definately need to shop for better insurance. I am 25 and pay 1800 a year full coverage with the 500 deductable. No tickets, no accidents......knock on wood lol.

Thats sick and totally believable.

These cars are the best bang for the buck out there in the price range. They do EVERYTHING well. You can't go wrong with the EVO. It is a great car.

you guys are crazy...spending 6k a year just to insure a car, not drive it is a tad bit out of hand...i couldn't imagine spending that kind of money for insurance. can't imagine what you do to get that money

yeah well i did it to myself when i first got my license,if i could go back and redo it i would've kept myself under control..
my insrurance was worse, but then i switched insurance companies and saved myself like 1500-2k.

and sorry i forgot the 6k is with 2 cars, i pay 4K a year for just the evo.
