I have a chance to pick up a fairly straight conquest for cheap. I was thinking of throwing a 350 in it if i get it. Im not worried about brackets or other stuff just if it would physically fit.

Seriously, why do people want to swap a chevy SB into absolutely everything. There are times when it's just plain wrong. Like a LS V8 in a RX-7, a 350 in a conquest, a saab engine in a 911, anything other than a toyota engine in a toyota.

I think the reason it's done so much is the common factor of these motors. It's a proven powertrain that has been around for 50 years+. GM has made a gazillion of these motors and you can get parts for them at basically any auto parts counter from the big city to some small rural town.

challenger is a turd. I was just thinking about a chevy cause for me its easy. We'll see. I gotta scrounge up some money to pick it up. That and i need time...supposedly the car only needs a clutch...i may just throw a clutch in it and drive it for now

chevy motors make sence in everything especially rx7s they are a proven great powerplant, the only reason i advised against it for this was the large availability of 4g swap parts

The other thing is that its cheap to make 300 plus reliable hp with a 350.

i agree completely.

but these conquest's and starions are rare cars.. you dont see alot of them at all. i'd keep it all mitsu... but thats me.
however everyone in intitled to do what they want. So if you go the sbc route, good luck and im sure it'll be a sick ass car when done.

Yeah, it's your car (or maybe will be), but I'd keep it mitsu if it were me. Plus you can make really nice power on a 4g63.
