If it is, apparently its him. Thought I'd post this here since theres such a large presence of subies/evos here. Fight fight fight* j/k.

the evo owned by al is not the turbotrix car...it is the dynoflash car...and it is running 9 seconds on the stock block without using nitrous as where turbotrix needed nitrous to hit 9's. i think al might have bored out the block and went with a gt40r kit instead of a gt35r kit since he hit 9s.
i posted a video of al's car running 9's a while back in the gallery section

What a waste of time. STi broke the clutch, fixed it, broke axles, fixed it, lost third gear, parked it.
Al was bracket racing 12.50's all day Sunday, I guess he was conserving the car.
Saw the STi do one launch, spin through 1st and 2nd, and lose third. Sounded mean as hell though.

I almost went to this. Good thing I didn’t ‘cause I would’ve been disappointed.
I think the STI is beyond it’s limits at that power level (hence the broken clutch, broken axle, broken third.)
I have no doubt the STI would’ve pulled impressive times (I wanna see an STI run 9s,) however, the STI seems to be extremely unreliable and impractical at that power level.
If your looking for insane amounts of power (600 or 700hp  ) I’m not sure I would use an STI as my canvas to create a work of art based upon speed. Besides, a 500hp STI would serve me just fine.
Too bad… it would’ve been cool to see these to warriors (STI/EVO) go head to head. :partyman:

Well, I’d rather have a 500hp Skyline then a 500hp EVO… but I guess we’re stuck with what we have. ;)

I’m soo looking forward to seeing what the new Infiniti G35 GT-R will be pack’n. If the ingredients are right, it may very well be my next car purchase.
By the way… anybody seen Jay with his MR and/or Skyline?

Not really, but the stock turbo can't make as much power as the stock TD05-16G the EVO has. That and an H4 motor isn't built to rev as high as an inline 4. That's why the displacement was raised to 2.5L.
