View Full Version : Any interesting new cars coming out?

I'm semi in the market and want to know what is out there or may be coming out soon.

Things I don't want:
EVO
Sti
SRT

I love those cars, but I'm planning on stepping it up a little bit. Things that are more mature and less "boy racer."

I've looked at M3 competition, S4(fat pigs), and the new Vette so far. I want something that is light and nimble. Glanced at the Elise, but that is less practical then my car.

Anyone who has any ideas, feel free to throw them out there.

New vettes are nice

http://www.saturn.com/saturn/showroom/future_vehicles/sky.jsp?nav=710&flashOK=yes

Here's my next one like I said in a previous thread...

I'd Wait for the Red Line version though... Turbo 2.0L. Same engine going into the pontiac solstice GXP

I want something at least near my car.

Don't really want a Saturn or something like that. I want to uprgrade the car entirely. Not just getting a new car.

That Redline should be sweet and move good too, though.

Acura TL? Dont know if you want luxury sportscar or pure sportscar, but they are very nice. If you just want a raw sportscar, the vette is a really nice choice, and I absolutely love M3s.

After RWD, I can't switch.

The TL is a sweet cruiser, but definitely not what I can see myself driving everyday.

I'm going to have to check out some cars. I've always loved Vettes, and the C6 gives me a boner. But, the M3 Comp. is sexy too. I'm not a big German car fan, but I can do.

350Z's/G35 Coupe's are classy, sporty cars but don't fit the "at least 13's" criteria. Plus, the same market as your S2000.

If you're looking at C6's, you could probably look at Boxsters, but I'd prefer a C6. Porsche has the Cayman coming out, but that'll be a little pricey. Beautiful car if you have the cash though.

The vette or M3 own everything that fits that criteria performance and sex-appeal wise, but I don't know if I could choose between the two.

I've driven a 6MT G35. I really liked the motor and feel of it. But, it feels too heavy to me.

I sat in a Boxster while I was in Vegas. It was a new S, very sweet. But, the gas bedal and brake are too spaced for any kind of decent heel-toe downshifts. I also didn't like how the gas pedal was setup.

That's kind of how I'm stuck I feel. Vette or M3. I could look at something used, but I really want it to be brand new so I can truly call it "my" car.

I could do with the fat pigness of the SL55. :prayer:

I've thought about the GTO. I'm not very fond of the looks of it though. Too much like your average Grand Prix on steroids. And like you said, they aren't great handling cars. Something which is very important to me.

Too small of a car. My mom has the older SLK. I hate how it handles. They understeer like it's their job. I'm not a fan of that. And at that point, I'd want the AMG, and they only come in auto.

C5 Z06. Given the price and capability requirements there is no other choice. Better get something for the winter though because you're gonna be up the creek without a paddle come December.

Well, my daily now is the S. They don't go anywhere in the snow either.

I've thought about the Z06, problem still comes to that I want to buy a "0" mile car. I want to be the first owner.

But, exceptions can be made. The new C6 goes mid 12's correct?

I've come down to three main choices.

1. C6 Vette/ C5 Z06
2. M3 Competition
3. Build up my car from the ground up. High compression NA motor. Set up for road racing. Then just buy a cheap beater car....

I hate this.

That is a bunch of BS. Earl even doesn't claim the power.

That guy is a former S2ki member who ripped off tons of the members and has a class action suit against him.

He also claims to have an inlinepro stroker motor, Inline's response, "No."

They are AWD. Two of my neighbors have them. They are very nice looking, but still big.

A SGT in my unit bought a S60R brand new. Two weeks later the engine seized halfway to Harrisburg from Philly. Needless to say he sold it back to the dealership for a full refund. They are nice looking for a Volvo but still looks like a soccer mom car. He is picking up a M45 Sport to replace it.
Im going to sell the rex when I get back from Italy, the tranny problems are too much for me. Im thinking about either a G35 Coupe or STI.

1999 Acura NSX red with black leather, some kind of black aftermarket wheels, and guess this, 4,483 miles on it. i saw it today in person when i went in for a job app. i thought it was brand new, coulda fouled me if it wasnt for there new headlights, which = teh sexiest front end ever, that is of course besides angelina jolie.

seriously tho. it was a 5/6 speed, w/e they are, im guessin 6. but yea, the thing looked BRAND NEW, it was insane, check it out. as for the price, i dunno , it wasnt on the print up sheet.

I love Miatas for their track potential, but in no way would I ever daily drive one.

Like I said earlier, I'm not a fan of the Boxster. Especially for how much it is and the lack of performance it gives you. The pedals are also very oddly set up making it hard to drive hard.

I know the M3 doesn't give the raw, direct feeling my car does on windy roads or anything like that. I just like the Competition one for some reason. Not sure why, just do.

I might build up my car a little and just wait and see what comes out in a year or so.

a new vette would be amazing or a new M3.

The problem is buying new you are going to take a tremdous hit buying it new. If you are like me and get sick of car in 6 months buy used.

Find an 06 vette or m3 with about 3k on it and pay about 5 to 10 grand less.

With the m3 you have to pay gas guzzler and luxury tax when it is new. Its a waste of money. Plus a payment on that bad boy is about the same as a house payment.

Also another idea is a used Z06... you can find them with like 5k on them for the low 30's. Or a used viper would be out of this world.

Good thing about buying any of thses cars used is that OLD timers owned them and they take such great care of them, they might as well be new.

But HELL a brand new car kicks ass too. Having you placed your ass first on the seat feels great too!

Any ideas of what is coming out? That is what I wanted to know. If there is anything interesting that may catch my eye that I should wait for.

MY 06/07 cars:

- rumors of the silvia finally making it's way over
- 2007 Nissan Skyline GT-R : Nissan says the next Infiniti flagship might not be a Q45 sedan replacement, and hints that the Skyline GT-R supercar that appeared as a concept in '01 could be the next flagship. And now the bad news: the GT-R won't launch until calendar year 2007.
- 2007 Mazda RX-7 : On the drawing board is a shortened, lighter coupe boasting 280-330 hp.
- audi rs4, http://automobilemag.com/2007_sneak_preview/0503_audi_rs4/
- sky/solstice, http://automobilemag.com/2007_sneak_preview/0503_saturn_sky/
- cayman, http://automobilemag.com/2007_sneak_preview/0505_porsche_cayman/
- svt cobra, http://automobilemag.com/2007_sneak_preview/0504_shelby_mustang/
- tt, http://automobilemag.com/2007_sneak_preview/0505_audi_tt/
- 2007 BMW 1 Series : BMW has launched a new range of cars in Europe positioned between the Mini and the 3 Series, lead by the 1 Series five-door. While the 1 Series has been exclusively four-cylinder powered, BMW showed off a sportier model at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show with the all-new 3.0L/255-hp straight six from the next-gen 3 Series under the hood, along with a six-speed manual transmission and new 17-inch alloy wheels. The five-door 130i hatchback is not coming to the U.S., but BMW has a 1 Series sedan under development that is under consideration for North American markets.
- 2007 BMW Z2 : A roadster spun off the small and affordable 1 Series.
- my personal fav, http://automobilemag.com/2007_sneak_preview/0503_bmw_m6/
