Anyone ever have the batteries go dead in their keyless entry system and have to reprogram? I tried following some of the steps from one of the audi forums but had no luck. I am trying to avoid going to the audi dealership at all costs....
If anyone has done this or knows the correct method, please let me know as soon as possible. FYI this is for a 00 a4 1.8tq.
Thanks in advance.

Most owners manual have instructions on how to reprogram the keyless entry system. Check there.

I browsed mine fairly quickly, I'll check again this afternoon but I don't think it is in there. Audi doesn't like to give away any secrets that could help to earn them money...

try this... stolen from audiworld:
You will need BOTH of your "switchblade" keys to reprogram one or both of them.
Take the key you DO NOT want to program and put it in the ignition. Turn it one click forward.
Close and lock the drivers door with the second key.
On the second key (the one in the drivers door) press the 'UNLOCK' button ONCE only. The lights will flash on the car, but the doors will remain locked
With the second key still in the drivers door, unlock then lock the door again.
Pull the key from the slot and test remote functions.
Open drivers door, remove key from ignition.
If both of your remotes don't work, do the above for the first key, but on step #3, press the 'UNLOCK' button twice. The lights will flash twice, then continue on with step #4.
hope this helps!
